General Carowinds discussion

I'm having a hard time believing they took today off. I was thinking they would have made up for some of the early week rain days. But while looking at the parking lot, they seem to have basically run out of track. There might be enough to barely get them out of the tunnel but that's it. The weather is going to be crappy for the early part of next week as well, so we may be at this stage for a while. There is still a ton of work left to go.

I am also wondering when they will continue track work and when the next truck loads will arrive....hopefully soon....

The last report I read about the Ohio plant said that there is still a lot of Fury track up there along with a new unidentified coaster. Now I understand why they waited to fabricate Fury last. The sheer volume would have tied up the facility for months.

Well, for now there is definitely not much track onsite at Carowinds, so they are surely running out of track until the next truck loads arrive...

^very cool! Thanks for sharing it! I'm still amazed by how big it is. Makes Hurler look like a kiddie coaster. And it's so close to Hurler, too!!!

Now for my bad news/good news of the day...

Bad news...we're going to see my mother in law this afternoon. (She hates me, and she's crazy, so it's never a fun visit...)

Good news...we get to drive by Carowinds on the way there!!! My first live view of FURY since October!

yay!

I think they're starting to install track again.

My estimated timeline for construction is more like:

by Feb 7 all track pieces are installed
by Feb 28 all track bolts are torqued and station is functionally ready (if not cosmetically) and is ready for the trains
by Mar 7 trains are installed and testing begins
by Mar 28 we all get our chance to enjoy this beast
