I went for years jerking my hands down at the end of the Scream Machine at SFoG. Nearly EVERYONE does. Then one day I actually tried to slap the facing. I couldn't reach it. It's definitely an optical illusion there. Now I just leave my hands up and laugh at the others who jerk them down.

I know the part of Goldrusher that was mentioned. I've never tried to touch that one. I may try this next year. My guess is that its an illusion too and I wont be able to reach it.

You must be huge. I'm 5'10" and I always leave my hands all the way up on goldrusher and have never touched it. I have touched branches from the trees on this ride but that is it.

There is no way that any park in the US (I not so sure about other countries) is going to have a ride that requires riders to duck in order to not die. I don't care if you are 7 ft tall.

It has been mentioned that it might have a magnetic brake right before the helix.

From the September event, (Yes, I just sourced to myself lol) it was said that there would be one magnetic trim in the layout, and not specified where. I'm 99.9999% sure its going to be on the uphill portion of the first airtime hill. After going on Leviathan, I can tell you that you really wont notice the trims are there at all, they are completely silent and smooth, nothing like Intimidator's loud brakes that you know exactly when your getting slowed down on. And its amazing how this ride only has one trim compared to Intimidator or Leviathan which both have two.

It moved while I was watching it, it was pretty unexpected lol. Good job with deciphering the old webcam, I have no idea how you can tell anything, that support is like one pixel on there.

I think they are getting a lot done today because of the weather tomorrow here in Charlotte. Its going to be 12 degrees in the morning with high winds. Constant 10-15 MPH winds, but up to 30 MPH gusts. They say it will feel like -5.

When was the original Coca-Cola Cool Zone added? I know the Oasis replaced the Cool Zone in either 2005 or 2006 because it was done during the operating season. Looks really good, Thrill Zone has really needed improvements.
