Here's hoping we wont feel them. I remember when they added trims to Mind Bender at SFoG it literally ruined the ride. They had them engaging every time before the final hill into the last vertical loop. Gave you whip-lash from the sudden almost stop and it just broke all of the "fun momentum".

If they're there for safety and only engage in an extreme case where the train is too fast, that's one thing. If they're there because the train will ALWAYS be going too fast and will need to be slowed every time, then that is something else. (Lets hope that's not the case.)

The trims don't ruin the ride on Intimidator, I doubt the ones on Fury will have an impact. I suspect the ride will still be fun.

if the ride had to have trims, this was the best place for them, virtually at the end of the ride and on an incline. I'm ok with this.

A) It's a Magnetic trim according to pretty much everyone that talked to Mike at the announcement, so it won't 'engage', it will always be on. I actually don't mind magtrims because they're much less noticable.

B) It's in the last third of the ride, so if there has to be a trim, I'm actually okay where it's placed, since this goes into the Helix, and likely won't affect the last few airtime hills.

C) Meh.

I.e. if it;s set to 60mph and the train is going 61 then it will slow the train to 60 but if it's going 59 it wont actually do anything. Is that true, or is that not quite right?

Yes that's true. It will only "engage" if the train is going faster than the designated speed. But as Edwardo said above, it's magnetic, so it's always on. It's very simple (and interesting) how they work.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I've been watching the construction every day just like you guys and finally decided to join the conversation.

I am in the camp that I don't really mind this trim. I think it's sole purpose is to make sure the train is going the desired speed as it tops the camelback so that it hits the helix at exactly the right speed. One of my favorite things about this ride is that it doesn't have a mid course break run. This is why I am dying to go ride Banshee at Kings Island. One little trim isn't going to destroy an otherwise intense coaster. I love that the design is all out from start to finish. It should be one amazing ride.

No...I think it has a steady current like a speed bump. Regardless what speed you engage it, its gonna slow you down...I'm just speculating though...
