So, answer me this...

Intimidator is listed as having a run time of 3 minutes and 33 seconds while Fury 325 is listed as having a run time of 3 minutes and 25 seconds. Yet, Intimidator is rated as being able to process 1,600 riders per hour while Fury 325 is only rated to process 1,470 riders per hour.

This makes no sense to me since they both have three trains with 32 seats a piece. Does anyone know why there is a difference?

Intimidator has a mid-course (although it's near the end of the ride) brake run and Fury does not. But while Fury has a theoretical capacity that is lower, I would guess that in practicality it won't be much different because you would need to really be cranking trains out on Intimidator to have one crest the lift before the train ahead reaches the final brakes.

I honestly don't think that we will have to wait THAT long in the line. Well, that is if there are four different lines:
Single Rider, Handicapped, Fast Lane, and Regular.

But what do I know.

On opening day for Intimidator I waited in a 45 minute line.. I bet Fury will be at least 1 hr. 30 min.

By the time opening day rolls around, I will have been waiting to ride Fury for 18 months. I'll be okay with queuing an additional ninety minutes to ride it.

Ad about 40 years to that time.

I think the more appropriate question is how many times are you going to try to ride it opening day.

I predict the line will go back to the area between the Theater and Ricochet. 2 hour wait. Unless we are lucky and it is a drab day.

Which begs another question: Will they assign seats in the beginning?

One thing to consider is whether the schools are out. I believe that schools were on spring break up in Ohio when Banshee hit Opening Day. What was interesting was that Gold and Platinum Pass early entry already backed the line up to the Eiffel Tower... probably 4+ hrs, so we bought the Fast Lane Plus to get the free t-shirt (even though we went to the fundraiser the night before and media day that prior morning). I do know that the locker issue at Banshee was a bit crazy on opening day since the lockers were at the ride (and were filled up) while the line extended throughout the park. I'm curious how this will all work itself out. I'd think that they'd wrap the line around past Cyclone and towards the back. Thoughts?

The good news is that the last piece of track will be arriving at the end of next week!

I feel as if there are still empty Seats even with the groupers assigning rows. I think the grouper's job should be croud control and not letting the station be a total cluster instead of assigning people to rows. I bet people could organize themselves just as well as the grouper could and be able to have a preference while doing so.

So we’re not all over the place for now, let’s wait until we get closer to opening day before determining what kind of thread to start.

Intimidator’s opening day was apparently a well kept secret for locals. 15-20 minute wait by midday, tops. Although, this spring may be a little different. Trip report for opening day 2010 for reference:

I think the weather had something to do with it. I remember it being very cold and windy. We did get in three rides in under 90 minutes and then walked on Afterburn. This all right after opening at 10 am.
