I've been thinking about that as well. The buildings on the other side of that bridge were about the same width apart as the bridge itself. I wish they would pan camera 2 down just a bit so we could see some of that. We don't really need to see the traffic on the interstate,... just up to the new toll plaza.

It seems the building on the left, as you're walking in the park, is kinda flushed to the bridge and the building on the right isn't as close. Maybe the bridge will run into the. Buildings and you would still sorta have the same opening as Before, just you can touch more of the buildings. Anyone follow me??

I did remember hearing at one point that the cinnabon building was going to be torn down but not sure if it did or not.

Intimidator’s opening day was apparently a well kept secret for locals. 15-20 minute wait by midday, tops. Although, this spring may be a little different. Trip report for opening day 2010 for reference:

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3013&hilit=opening

A group of friends and I came down from Cincinnati for Intimidator's first ride auction. We all had been at Diamondback's opening day and had arrived a full 2.5 hours before the park opened, only to be greeted with at least 500 people still in front of us. Carowinds park personnel wanted the auction winners to be at the park by 8:30, so we made sure that we were going to be at the park by 8 when Carowinds would officially open the parking lot. We didn't want to be in the back of a giant line of cars waiting to get in and risk being late to the proceedings.

We arrived at the parking gates around 7:45 and expected a madhouse, but as it turns out we were only the 10th car waiting. There may have been 50 cars total when they opened the parking gates. It was a long way off from the near chaos of Diamondback (and Banshee's) opening day.

We got our auction ride around 9:40, and they were letting in the first of the general public shortly thereafter. The wait time initially pushed to 15-20 minutes and slacked off to 10 minutes around 11:30. We ended up getting four rides in total before we had to head back home around 1; the longest wait of which was 20 minutes around noon.

The day started cool in the morning with temps in the middle 40s, but warmed into the mid to upper 60s by the time we left with sunny skies all day. Perhaps that's a bit cool by local standards but we definitely enjoyed it.

Having said all of that, I really don't expect a repeat with Fury 325's opening day. On the bright side, it does seem as though the Southern parks opening days aren't nearly the spectacle that many parks in the northern part of the country seem to be. Should be interesting!

On most coasters, including MF at CP, I don't have any carry on items but I usually wear a baseball hat when I'm at a park ......and I've always gotten on the ride with it on.....turned it backwards or held on to it........I thought i remembered reading something about lockers .....does this include baseball hats?

I always wear a baseball hat on Carrowinds coasters, they have never asked me to put it in a cubby or locker. I take it off as we go up the hill and stick my hand through the hole in the back. It stays on my wrist and I don't need to hold on.

Agree I always have a hat on when riding rides too. I simply turn it backwards or hold on to it, but i've never been asked to remove it. Looks like putting in the helix wasn't that complicated after all.

That is one large helix! I think it would have been cool if they would have designed it to just hug the ground throughout the entire thing instead of it gaining height. I guess the g's would have been too high? or maybe the speed would have been off to get it into the next bunny hop? Would have been cool though.

I was thinking same thing. Sort of like I-305's first turn out of the drop I felt like I could touch the ground.

Looks like they will complete the helix and start the next to last camel back tomorrow. I think by Saturday they could start the last camel back.
