I could not hear Steve on the megaphone most of the time due to my hearing and I do not work well with megaphones partially due to my hearing. I wanted to keep a safe distance as much as possible from it.

LOL. You're falling into the same thoughts I had a week or so ago when I was watching some trucks move around the site. Take a LONG look at camera 1. You'll notice something. Fury is BIG!!!!!! Those little gaps that we're all used to are HUGE.
What looks like a tight fit on cam are actually very large openings.

Hey Folks. I joined this forum awhile back and have learned a lot about Coasters and Parks In General. I was at Carowinds when it opened day one! Yeah I just dated myself. I am not the type to jump into any discussion unless I feel I can add something of value to it. This is one of those times.

I have seen several comments about the piece of Fury track being brought down to be attached and it not being done. The comment was made that maybe they decided not to do it because perhaps they had other things that needed to be done instead. Probably true there's a lot to do yet. However, my point is if that was the case IMHO then they would not have done it in the first place. They wouldn't have wasted their time to begin with.

I was one of those who watched it all happen on the cam. And it is my opinion being that the piece was the next in line to be installed they took it down there with intentions to do just that! But in the process of attempting to attach it they noticed something was askew. I saw them try various times with no success! They finally just stood there staring at it. I stepped away for a few minutes and when I came back they had lashed it back onto the two lifts and appeared to be preparing to take it back up front. When like someone else said a truck load of track arrived and literally drove past the two lifts and the track in question parked beside the road! It is my contention that perhaps when they unloaded that truck they reloaded this piece of track in question back onto that truck and it was sent back to Clermont to fixed or replaced ASAP! Thus the delay in continuing the build. There is plenty of track in the lot to start back. However maybe that important next piece has not arrived back yet and may not until the last load of track arrives! Just my two cent worth. Peace Y'all.

Besides the size of the opening, they also have to be concerned with the height to the bottom of the track closer to the previous support. But whether a truck fits or not, there is no way they should be driving any trucks through there while the coaster is operating. Disaster waiting to happen.

Going back through my captures, I stand by my conclusion. They attempted to install that piece once and it then pulled it off. They have done this a number of times if the angles just aren't right. They usually adjust the rigging and then try again. But by this time, there is a semi there to pick up more of BBs counterweight, and a track delivery. The "small" crane loads the counterweight, then goes back to start loading up the Cliffords. The forklifts take the track section back to the parking lot (and its still in the same place it was when they did that), and started unloading the trucks.

I think we'll see some more track being put in place once the Cliffords are gone.

There probably will be barriers erected around the opening. I've seen trucks drive under Thunder Road while it's in operation and I'm sure a truck would do a heck of a lot more damage to Thunder Road's wood frame than Fury's steel structure.

If you look at Leviathan's turnaround, the supports are right there for the public and everyone else to walk up and touch. I'm sure they use that area for trucks and equipment when the park is closed. I think the match-sticks that these coasters are built out of can withstand a lot. Now, that's not to say it probably wouldn't be the best idea for trucks to go through there while the ride is operating.

Keep in mind that trucks and buses will be servicing the Paladium while the ride is in operation (Probably not through THAT opening though.)

How so? SFOG has been operating Goliath for nearly 10 years with the public entrance road directly underneath it without issue. Matter if fact, some of the supports are closer to that road that any of Fury's are. If the folks in Atlanta can avoid a bunch of columns, I'm certain the maintenance workers at Carowinds can manage just fine.

^^^ You beat me to it Jarsh. I was just thinking I remember always driving directly under Goliath every time I visit SFOG and the supports are basically the curb of the road. Fury will not have an issue.
