Bottom line: B&M only puts sand in the rails per customer request. So unless Carowinds specifically requested sand in the rails, it isn't there.

Steve said the rails were empty and Mike said that Clermont told him there was sand in them. I'd tend to believe the construction foreman over hearsay from the fabricator.

And Clermont doesn't even fabricate the rails. They're shipped in from Europe and attached to the spine and cross ties by Clermont.

Started watching a video taken during Gatekeeper fabrication, it shows hollow rails with out caps in them. I didn't get to finish.

I heard something about SOME of the rails being fabbed in Italy, but I think they do most of them at Clermont now. I don't remember where I read that at, but it was recent.

We can always ask Walter or Claude at media day where the rails are fabbed at and if Fury has sand in the rails, lol.

they put sand in gatekeepers I dont see why they wouldn't for carowinds. Its not as far fetched as you guys think it is.

and just because I know it will be asked, from wiki, yeah I know take it with a grain of salt

Two things: GateKeeper goes directly over the ticket area so making it quieter makes sense and there is an actual neighborhood across the parking lot from GateKeeper so I'm sure both of those items played into the sand for it. With Fury, it isn't near any houses and it doesn't pass directly over the ticket area. It doesn't need to be quiet for any reason.
