Or you can just stop posting stuff as fact, implying that you're the #1 guy for inside information.

shots fired!

Seriously though. We are all a bunch of nerds for following this construction piece by piece. That's all well and good. But when some step to the front with the arrogance and name dropping and inside sources, that when the good nerds become...

That doesn't make me incorrect, but just means I didn't mention a step, but I do apologize for this. Do you know what stage this takes place at? I know they need a test rider at each stage (after all the tests with water dummies), and based on what I've heard of other manufacturers' rides opening, B&M employees are going to be first (Maverick changed its layout after the designer rode it, but before anyone else did). Then probably the COO of Cedar Fair and either the V.P. or G.M. of Carowinds (I don't know which because at Wonderland it's the same person...).

I guess they're just going to leave that piece there until Friday?

I don't think he is correct. That may have been park policy or something, but the law as I read it is specifically referring to operating the ride for public use. From what I can tell state certification generally seems to come shortly before the ride opens to the public, well after it has been tested and ridden by various employees of the manufacturer, builder, and park.

Ohio is obviously a different state with different regulations, but Cedar Point even had an employee ride night for Shoot the Rapids, after which it failed to get certification and did not open for several weeks after.

OMG there is no more track or supports in the parking lot! What are we going to do? Will this website go back to it's old sleepy self prior to the build-up to the Fury announcement and subsequent build?

From what I remember, I *think* it's that it can't open to the PUBLIC until the state certifies it. Up to that point, it's usually the manufacturers first (to check everything out) and then the park folks. Once B&M turns it over, Carowinds will only let their employees ride it due to insurance reasons (from what I've been told) and then once the state has certified it, everyone can ride it.

At least that's how it's been told to me with regards to some pre-media day rides on Superman and Goliath at SFoG.

Everything that RollerBee listed is correct, however in the situation of new rides such as Fury certain people (B&M, Maintenance and full time management may (((cough cough))) ) ride before the state inspection. (I certainly never did  ) (the reason for this is those three positions are covered under the park insurance when the park is closed in the off season, where seasonal employees are not)

For the rest of the rides each year that only need to meet a cycle count for certification nobody is allowed to ride until the Inspection is done AND maintenance/rides management allow.

Also B&M does not really come in and run the ride as much as there is a rep from B&M (Walter when intimidator opened) and a rep from the software company chosen, these two monitor the ride as the maintenance department runs it to the test schedule previously laid out by B&M. In the case of intimidator select rides personal helped operate the ride, (what better way to learn a new ride then breaking it in for two months) as the closer opening day came the more work maintenance had to do around the park on other rides.

Source: I was one of the team leaders that helped break in Intimidator and actually received the training from Walter, somewhere on this site there is a picture from a news article of me in a hard had "checking" empty restraints.

That's cool. I met Walter on opening day in 1999 when Top Gun opened. I didn't know he was there until my family were coming down the exit steps after riding and saw some guys in suits escorting this guy around. I thought it might be him so I ran over and asked. He was very friendly and I told him that I was a big fan. My family thought I was a geek. I was but it was fun! :D

Now I guess we will have to analyze every move of a bulldozer or concrete truck that makes an appearance on camera 2 and debate on whether or not the front gate will be ready on time
