We were invited to help cover the completion of Fury 325 track.
The sheer size of this coaster amazes me each time I see it.
As we head towards the station there are lots of things to notice along the way.
There are some great head choppers...
...a trim brake...
...an access road wide enough for my grandmother to drive a truck through...
...the infamous footer (that had to be replaced since it was more than 3mm outside the template)...
...and just a great looking ride no matter which section you study.
Here's a shot from a different angle.
Everywhere you look there is work going on.
While we're waiting, here's a shot of the queue line.
...where there will be shade.
And in other news...
Hello
The colors are really growing on me.
...and the architecture is amazing.
The moment we've been waiting for. The construction crew signs the final piece.
Mike says it's time.
The crew is in place and the lift begins.
It's official. Piece 162.
The crew continues to lift it in place despite gusty winds.
Well, almost in place.
They continue to guide it into place.
We're nearly there. Is the suspense killing you? I could go on for awhile...
Well Mike and the rest of the media look on in suspense...
We're almost there...
The workers finish tightening the bolts on the first side...
And we're finished. The final bolts are being put into place and Fury 325 has a complete circuit.
Like I said, these colors are growing on me.
Mike stopped to remind us that this is not a parking lot coaster. Most of the people there didn't have a clue as to what he meant. A few of us stopped to get pictures, though.
No matter where you looked, there was work going on, from torquing bolts...
...to touching up paint...
...while T Rex kept an eye on things.
Did I mention there is a trim?
The entire place is a construction zone.
Treble Clef anyone?
The crews are doing their best to make sure Fury 325 opens on time.
They did announce a new Fury 325 cup holder.
...and a trim. I don't care but it kept standing out to me.
A panorama shot of Fury 325 from the entrance plaza.
I spy...
The one thing you can be sure of, Fury 325 will open this spring.
I have more pictures to post about the front entrance which I'll do in that thread.
