Wrong. Kimmel was funnier than Leno and Letterman, yeah. But Fallon... no. And I genuinely wanted to hate Fallon. I thought he was a terrible choice but I was dead WRONG. Dare I say it... he's the closest thing to Carson since Carson.

No to all of the comedians yall want to come. They need to get Beyoncé. Queen Bey, Queen City, and it's themed to Bees.

You're welcome Carowinds.

Man, looking at the picture Axel posted is my life. Is that in fact the controls box? Relays, Contacts, PLCs, etc. Oh, and the miles of cables and wires.

This is what I do every day in cabinets, pedestals, and moving vehicles. Pretty cool stuff behind the scenes. Thanks for the pic.

I would love it "if" we could get a look at the electronics that make Fury 3 2 5 such a buzz.

Yup I will go to the park extra early so I can do that

no need... I'm sure it is connected to the web... just hack it, turn the trims off, control it from your smart phone while riding and get all the laps you want!

I never really thought much about it, but a traditional coaster is really a pretty simple machine. It just doesn't get any simpler than gravity power!

It wouldn't have much processing to do at all. Many of the controls will simply be operated manually (opening and closing the gates, releasing the restraints, releasing the brakes to send it on its way)

In fact, probably the simplest that than they can make the better off it is, with almost no complex processing. Once they get a few tweaks to the brakes (that are triggered by the Hall sensors that determine speed, and location of the trains) it's all really old-school electronics... basically relays. That's pretty cool. Thanks for showing us that Carowinds.

Of course they used enormous processing in the design phase to make it. But probably very little, if any, processing in the actual operation of it, just like coasters that are very very old. And once that laptop gets disconnected after set-up, a person from the 1940's could probably troubleshoot and maintain it. That's pretty neat.

I wonder how much redundancy they have with the hall sensors and relays.

Could be a suggestion for C3. At the ACE event at Canada's Wonderland two years ago we had a tour that included Behemoth's maintenance area and control room.

Just came across this on youtube....- Jimmy Fallon and Kevin Hart riding a roller coaster in Orlando........... I wonder if Mike could get them down/up here for Media Day and have them ride the Fury ??? ....... could be a lot of great exposure for the new coaster !

Jimmy and Kevin ride a coaster

I suppose it would be good publicity, but I liked the Tonight Show better with Jay Leno. I don't watch it much anymore and mostly watch Letterman. Also the tie in with Jimmy Fallon was because NBC and Universal are both jointly owned by Comcast. So good cross promotion. Would be better for Cedar Fair to have a local Charlotte celebrity ride on Fury. And I wonder if they ever had Dale Jr. ride Intimidator?
