Fury is quite coming alive tonight.

For those of us not in the know, could you explain what, exactly, they are doing right now?

They are doing a pull-through with just lead car, probably testing and aligning the sensors.

I don't know if this explanation is "exactly" enough for you...

They are manually pulling a car through the track (or at least part of it). They do this to make sure that the parts of the train fit exactly to their mating parts on the track. They want to make sure that clearances between parts match up exactly.

For example: the brakes on the train are not like brakes on a car. The moving parts of the brakes are mounted to the track. So they need to make sure everything aligns so that when the non-moving parts, that are mounted to the train, pass through the brake mechanisms, they will stop the train without damaging either parts that are mounted to the track or mounted to the train.

For me it's been real the whole time, yet VERY surreal that Carowinds is getting a giga coaster. 16 years ago Carowinds got it's first MAJOR coaster, and 15 years later we have a coaster over 200 and 300 feet. (Let's face it, this would've never happened with Paramount at the reigns) I still don't think the GP knows the magnitude of this coaster and what this coaster can do. They think it's just another Intimidator. People at my school say,"I can't wait to ride the new coaster at Carowinds!". Once they see the coaster in person like I did at WWU, I'm sure there attitudes will quickly change.

Can't wait for 3/25 and opening day!

unless its just not turned on I'm not sure they can install that without a crane and bucket

Oh yes, they do! I wasn't saying that they would have a negative attitude change. I was just saying that I think they will be shocked and possibly scared about riding this beast!
