They are manually pulling a car through the track (or at least part of it). They do this to make sure that the parts of the train fit exactly to their mating parts on the track. They want to make sure that clearances between parts match up exactly.

For example: the brakes on the train are not like brakes on a car. The moving parts of the brakes are mounted to the track. So they need to make sure everything aligns so that when the non-moving parts, that are mounted to the train, pass through the brake mechanisms, they will stop the train without damaging either parts that are mounted to the track or mounted to the train.

Wonderful explanation...thank you!!

Wow. I honestly didn't imagine that Fury could look any more amazing. I was wrong lol.

It would be cool if the lights did chase, and I hope they continue the lights to crest the lift -which I have hope will be done when they get more lights up. This thing is gonna be an amazing night ride!!

I wonder if they have lights under the bridge yet?

just went to the park to see the lights in person. they are stunning. one thing I hadn't seen though, Cabelas has stuck a huge sign right beside the carowinds sign. I absolutly hate it. Their store can be seen from the highway, I dont think they needed to put a big *** sign right there.

Solution: bigger, better Carowinds sign. 8)

Honestly though, I can't imagine I will be okay with seeing a giant sign next to the one for Carowinds...

I know the pictures are not THE BEST but just gives you a perspective of what we can see outside of the park.

I think that you just bid on a certain seat on a certain train until the auction ends. Who knows how high it will go. We won't know until it happens I guess.
