General Carowinds discussion
#71231
Brother took me to Leathermans after work yesterday to hit some golf balls for my birthday. Afterwards driving towards 485 on Tryon we can see Fury straight ahead lit up green as if Green Lantern was building a coaster. It was so awesome!

Camera 2 comes up just fine.
I don't understand the problem and it's frustrating.

Do you really want to understand?

If you run this in a terminal :

curl -s -D - http://pixelcaster.com -o /dev/null

You will get information about the pixelcaster server. Which reads:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date: Sat, 28 Feb 2015 18:15:53 GMT
Server: Apache/2.2.29 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.29 OpenSSL/1.0.1e-fips mod_bwlimited/1.4
Last-Modified: Wed, 07 Jan 2015 03:27:27 GMT
ETag: "12005bf-85c-50c0780c0344e"
Accept-Ranges: bytes
Content-Length: 2140
Content-Type: text/html

Cool huh?

You can see in the server description that the pixelcaster server is running a bandwidth limiting modification:

1.0.1e-fips mod_bwlimited

What this does:

The mod works as an output filter in the apache filters chain.
When a user start downloading something, the data goes through the mod. If there is a bandwidth limit, then the mod will start "splitting" the data into smaller pieces. Then it will start sending each piece with a small delay (less than 1 sec) between each piece, thus, reducing the speed the user downloads.

Eeach person watching gets smaller and smaller pieces with larger and larger delays in between the frames (for more and more people watching). All the way down to getting one frame, with a very large delay between getting the next one.

Now you understand.

Are you SERIOUS? That is absolutely absurd. Will not be doing or supporting that practice.

Thank you! That's cool and interesting!
I wish it would start working for me now.

Yeah, all you can do is try again and hope that fewer people are watching. :D

Maybe pixelcaster will tell Carowinds that they're getting a lot of viewers, and Carowinds will agree to pay pixelcaster some more money to increase their bandwidth limit.

No doubt!
I refuse to pay for a locker for a ride.
Let's make a rule that no one can bring anything into the station, and then we'll charge them to use a locker.
People need crap in a park. My wife has to have her inhaler and various medicines. I like to have a camera. Shouldn't be too much to ask to have bins in the stations.

Better yet, just don't ride. I don't agree with the locker policy but I have yet to see it in action. In my opinion, it will cost them gift shop sales. However I am one of people that purchase a locker on most visits.
