General Carowinds discussion

I loved the locker system they had when we were at Universal this past weekend. We put our stuff in, it was free for like an hour, and then you were charged if you went over that time. It used biometrics for identification, which was cool, too. I would love it if Carowinds used lockers like those.

Okay, I am going to have Fast Pass Plus on Saturday, April 4th. What order should I hit rides in? I know Fury and Nighthawk will be all kinds of packed, but in order what should I hit? (I plan on riding these coasters, so just orer them out of these: Fury, Intimidator, Afterburn, Vortex, Nighthawk, Carolina Cyclone, Thunder Road, Gold Rusher, Carolina Cobra). I just want to know how to be most efficient and create a plan of attack, thanks! :D

I have never had a fast lane pass at Carowinds, but I can't see you being held up. I would just make one lap around the park in either direction. It's hard to predict because I don't know how much Fury will draw away from other rides.

My POA ( plan of action) is usually as follows...Hit nighthawk first ( if i plan on riding it that day) because it generally has the slowest load time and longest line ( again fury may slightly reduce it but probably not by much) then i always go counter clockwise around the park. I wouldn't be too worried about the line for Fury, beemers are people eaters so with that and the fast pass you should have no hold ups there.

On media day, I'll have to plan what I do on the spot. But opening day (after I introduce a few of my friends to the park) we'll go straight to Fury probably. But one of my friends has never rode a roller coaster, so I'll start her on ricochet. I'm sure that she'll fall in love with coasters though.

The locker system a kennywood is just as good. The lockers are between the entrance line and the exit area. If you're waiting in line and employee tells you to put your stuff in the lockers and there is amount of free time loaded onto all lockers. No one can use them if they are not in line. You get assigned a pin/key for your locker, and as you exit the ride you get your stuff back. Free and easy. The number of lockers is planned to the amount of people who can pass the 'choke point' where the lockers are, so they won't run out of lockers. If your stuff doesn't fit in a locker you can go put it in your car, or leave it in the waiting area by the lockers. It's still 'at your own risk', but you have a key/pin, anything that doesn't fit in a locker is really 'at your own risk'.

If i buy an unlimited refill cup, i shouldn't have to pay to store it in a locker when i ride. Maybe they can use the bar codes on cups to see if you qualify for unlimited refills, if you do, you can store the cup you just paid $14 for free. Maybe if you purchased an item at a gift shop that can't be taken on the ride, or have won an item at a game that can't come on the ride you get a bar code on your receipt that lets you use a locker.

Hell, just setup a drink station by the lockers on the ride... Want a free locker? Just buy an unlimited cup! They'd sell a many more cups this way.

Have been wearing it in parks FOR YEARS. Have NEVER had a problem with a lapbar. I wear the pack in the front on rides. For rides like intimidator, I simply push it to the non-seatbelt-connector side and all is very well. Again, the fury seats are the exact same seats as intimidator so there would NOT be a problem as far as interference.

On Cam #1 there's a boom crane on the back of a truck backed up to where the Fury Sign goes and it's boom is being extended. Can't tell what they are up to and doing at the moment though. Just thought I would give a heads up for anyone not watching right now. Peace folks. I am headed back to watch for myself.

They're probably getting ready to put up the Fury sign
