General Carowinds discussion

I was thinking about starting a 'crazy stuff' thread. I am not talking about people who might have a real mental illness. Those people are not crazy, those people are sick. They should not be made fun of for having an illness. This is just meant to be a silly and lighthearted thread talking about the bizarre things that you see people say or do in the park. But, sometimes you just see something at the park, and all you can say is... W T F.

Here's mine, happened today.

Today, there was this guy who was carrying an umbrella. I can understand that, it was pretty darn hot in the sun. But it was not just a regular umbrella, it was one of those gigantic golfing umbrellas. In fact it was a Taylor Made umbrella. It was freaking huge. He walked right into the line of Fury, with the gigantic umbrella up. The person whose job it was to keep the loose articles out of the line said absolutely nothing. Of course it was kind of redundant, because most of the line to Fury is shaded (and misted). But still he kept that sucker up through the whole line, and everyone had to keep ducking their heads to keep their eyes from getting poked by it (it protruded into the parallel lines of people).

He took it down as he approached the seat-assigner, who again, said absolutely nothing about it. He was assigned to the seat behind me. He didn't try to set it down anywhere in the station. He brought it on the freaking ride! I am not joking. He is buckled in and holding it (sideways) on top of the lap bar. The only person who says anything, is finally the person who checks his lap bar. Of course he is completely shocked that he can't hold his umbrella (with the pointy end pointed at the chests of the people seated next to him) while travelling 95 mph on a roller coaster. What could possibly go wrong?

I've heard a lot of crazy things at Carowinds, but by far my two favorites are (One man to another) "You know they're gonna tear down Intimidator because Fury is so much better." and (An extremely country man talking to me) "Y'know back in my day we rode White Lighting" Me-"Yeah I would've loved to have been there to ride it" Him- "Yeah I was great, they clocked it at 115 m.p.h." *I hold back laughter*

I saw a woman sitting in the front seat af Goldrusher with a baby in her lap. The baby couldn't have been a year old. When the ride op told her that the baby couldn't ride she became irate saying things like I paid all this money to get in and my baby can't ride this. Me and my wife laughed and laughed at this crazy woman

Once we were in line for Thunder Road and these 2 girls that looked like they were 12 or 13 tried to break the line, and I yelled at them and told them not to cut the line. She got all mad and said to her friend "this is why I don't like riding this ride because people in line on this ride have attitudes!" LOL

I was In line at TR one time and had been talking to some guys in front of us while we waited (they were my age at the time about 14). When they were next in line him and his 3 friends all started to freak out. They were so scared. Well when they got in the train and had their restraints locked I began to tell a story about how last year thunder road fell off the tracks on the way up the lift hill, the ride ops even played along and the kids just lost it. They started screaming "let me off" "let me off" and the ride ops just said "sorry we can't do that" and sent the train. We all got a good laugh as we watched them freak out up the lift hill. When they pulled back in they had loved the ride and we told them we were joking.
I have so many other stories that I'll type another time.
