What pump house? Either way, there is no stage.

Were some things left out because of time and be added next off season, or were they left out for good. I know it wasn't going to be exactly like the pictures/renderings, but what is the reason that the volleyball courts and the stage not to be built? Don't get me wrong, I am very impressed with everything done, just wondering why the change.

sand is like $25 per ton. I guesstimate they would need like 200-300 tons for a volleyball court. It would cost around $10K to construct it. If you are telling me carowinds doesn't have $10K for the volleyball court after spending $50 million plus for expansion I would say you are nuts. I am wondering if they just thought it through and having a volleyball court so close to guests sitting in their lounge chairs might not be such a smart idea not to mention the sand that could clog filters.

I agree with this as the sand adds a uniqueness to a wave pool.

But - I know why most parks don't do it. Ask Dan at Alabama Adventure about it. The wave pool that was there had a sand beach when it was built and the first thing Dan did was get rid of the sand. He says all it does is get into the filtration system and clog everything up. The maintenance cost of a sand beach are outrageous!

Just to add to some previous comments, as Coasterbruh said, there is plenty of room for expanding Carolina Harbor without actually increasing its size. They can easily add 4-5 more bigger attractions within the existing boundaries. I suspect we'll see a new attraction in the water park every 2-3 years to keep making it fresh.

I'll mention once again that the new building that they built by the campground, across from the maintenance buildings is not a maintenance building. Per a few park officials, it is entirely for shipping and receiving to meet the future needs of the park. Before they built this new building, shipping and receiving was done at a few different locations. Truck drivers complained about how difficult it was to get trucks in and out of those areas. This new building will handle all of the shipping/receiving needs of the entire park in one location that is easy for trucks to get in and out of. This new large building will meet the entire needs of the growing park for many years to come.

EDIT: No pictures of me, Coasterbruh?

Hmm, the warehouse next to Thunder Road looked like it may have been for games prizes. If that is now in the larger building maybe Last Laff will move to the small building. Wasn't the PvZ gift shop placed in the former arcade?

I had the pleasure, or not, of visiting 'Da Harbor on a regular day yesterday and some of my observations . . .

- Man, this place is crowded
- The theme elements are a very nice touch
- Man, this place is crowded
- The food at harbor house kinda . . . well, it sucks
- Man, this place is crowded
- Not too many people know about the new pool as it was pretty empty compared to the older one
- Man, I really wanted to like the food at harbor house but it just sucks.
- Large, wet women in flip flops should not traverse hills soak and wet because we all know what will sure happen lol (Had to walk away laughing hard as hell as 3 guys were picking her up)
Lastly . . .
- Man, this place is crowded.
