RMC has gained a lot of traction over the last few years, so I think it's a very likely possibility that we could end up with one someday. There's also been a lot of discussion about Kings Dominion's Hurler conversion and whether we'll eventually be seeing our Hurler get converted as well.

My question to you all is that if it were up to you, would you rather see an RMC be built from the ground up or Hurler be converted?

I would definitely choose a new RMC (and put it in the current Dinosaurs Alive area). I think if Hurler were to be converted, it would become a very good ride, but I also think its potential would be limited. I don't think it would be nearly as good as an RMC built from scratch, and if we're going to have an RMC in the park, I want it to be an amazing coaster.

Here's how I imagine Hurler as an RMC conversion. Or something kinda like this maybe.

That layout does look pretty cool, but comparing it to other RMCs, it would probably be one of the most 'eh' ones (which isn't saying much considering RMC has yet to make a bad ride). I think if RMC does end up coming to the park, I'd love to see them go all-out on a coaster, and Hurler is limited for me in that regard.

Hurler is very limited. Even with the above layout, I had to increase the height of the lift hill in order to have a somewhat decent pacing.

Lets see . . . you have gravity group and GCI still very much alive. It's not so much as the brand name its more a good ride for me. Would I like to see an RMC, sure. But not for the cost of just having one at the park. I would love a nice length wooden coaster with a nice mix of extreme and moderate thrills . . . don't really care who provides it.

^ That's true. For me, I just really enjoy the visual appeal and crazy elements of RMCs. That's definitely not to say that I wouldn't want to have one of those other manufacturers build a ride here sooner or later, though.

I've been meaning to get to Dollywood to ride their new wooden coaster Lightning Rod. Is it an RMC? (Sorry for being out of the loop but I believe it is.)

The reason I asked is that I have a friend whose 24 year old daughter rode it this past summer and came away with a verified diagnosed concussion. Been a slow recovery for her from that. (She's a coaster geek too.)

How does someone get a concussion on a ride where there is no head banging?

Yeah I'm incredibly confused by that. Not that I don't believe it, just curious how it could have happened.

As for the question, I voted for RMC from scratch, but I'd be just as interested in a new Gravity Group woodie.

Unless it's reappeared, the pothole that was there was fixed. There was no noticeable jolt during the ACE event on November 19. But even as bad as I heard it was, I can figure out how that would've caused a concussion to just one person on the train.

Maybe they had their head turned a certain way? I know that sometimes if I am looking in an odd way on any coaster, it can possibly cause some kind of head injury. This is why the parks say to "keep your head straight"
Say for example if I were riding Ricochet, if I am looking in an opposite way as the track, and we turn a corner, I could possibly snap my neck a little if I'm not careful. Which is why the parks try to strain "keep your head back. Keep your head straight".
