I have a quick question. I have read this forum a lot but haven't posted. I got a gold pass to Carowinds last year. I haven't renewed it yet. I wanted to know if it would be better to renew my gold pass or get a Platinum pass? I'm going to Kings Dominion this summer and plan to go to Carowinds a lot. With the price to Kings Dominion and parking. Would a Platinum pass be worth it? Do the discounts apply at the other parks or just at Carowinds? Thanks in advance!

If you're only going to KD for one day, get the gold pass. Platinum is only worth the $200 if you're visiting outside of Carowinds for more than a single day.

I agree. Unless you're going to KD for more than a day, (which won't be necessary if you get a fast lane or more than likely, the park is dead) just do a gold pass. Platinum pass is great if you intend on going to more than one park outside your home park.

Also, do a little research on tickets before going to KD. You are likely to find deals on single day passes that will save you some $$$ over the gate price. My credit union, for example, sells discount KD tickets that are $25 off of gate prices.

Good point, Arby! Groupon usually has $25 or $30 tickets at some point during the season, as well. They've done it the last two years, maybe more.
