Cedar Fair Earnings Report confirms 4 new coasters for 2018! I found this on Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/rollercoasters/comments/69azwc/cedar_fair_quarterly_earnings_statement_confirms/.

Link to earning report: http://ir.cedarfair.com/investor-home/default.aspx

Copy and Pasted cliffs notes from the Reddit thread:

-California's Great America already has markers showing up for their 2018 addition. Plans should be finalized by beginning of next year.
-First of its kind coaster coming to the chain. (T-Rex coaster to Carowinds CONFIRMED!!!) /s
-RMC Mean Streak hinted at, along with RMC Hurler
-Previous Manufacturer is coming back for a project. Plenty of options to choose from (big one: Intamin).
-Demographic studies completed at 6 of their parks so far and has helped increase satisfaction and attendance at those parks as well.
-No confirmation on what parks will be getting hotels just yet, but at the moment they want to roll out the sports complexes quickly.

Maybe its because I'm on mobile, but I saw no mention of a T-rex coaster anywhere. Can someone point me in the right direction?

You must listen to the entire earning report. They did not mention the T-Rex specifically. They did say they will open a new coaster that will be the first of its kind. I sarcastically said that it is a T-Rex coaster that is coming to Carowinds.

Pro Tip: Anytime you see "/s", that means the previous statement is sarcasm.

Good lord that is a lot of coasters. I'm betting...

Cedar Point
Kings Dominion
Knotts/CGA (Also where I think first of its kind is going)
Carowinds

I'd be very surprised if it's intamin. (Don't read anymore into that statement other than the two companies had a very sour relationship in recent history)

As for the new type of coaster? I'm betting on Knotts getting something new from Gerstlauer.

Straight from Ouimet:

completely new type of coaster, a dramatic transformation of two of our historical wooden coasters and a renewed relationship with a manufacturer who we have worked with in recent history that will add another coaster and deepen our pool of ride manufacturers.

The way I read this rules out the possibility of a boomerang relocation (next year, but maybe later on) and the chances of Vortex being converted next year. I'm thinking they're referring to GCI, which I would assume is for Carowinds.

Ouimet has already said that he prefers not to relocate coasters.

When was the last time Cedar Fair worked with Vekoma? 2009? IIRC they're working on some sort of prototype and maybe that's what's going to Knott's.

As far as new coasters, we know what two of them will be (Mean Streak and KD Hurler), and if the third one is a prototype, I'm gonna bet that the fourth is floorless.
