Not an insider, but i feel that would be likely since they already had ripped out most of the games section there and whenever I walk past it nobody is playing them.

August after the announcement

Not necessarily I remember last year for the first two weekends of Carolina Harbor they pointed the webcam towards the wave pool and black beards revenge so we might be able to see a little bit of the construction site but I don't think it will.

well they already pretty much announced a water park expansion the previous year when they said they were going to make a "splash" so it was no secret.

I can't say what is happening but I can say you can chill out cause that's not . . .  :silent:

I refuse to chill out my good sir.

In fact, I'm going to turn the heat up on the baseless rumor that the park is getting a dueling RMC hybrid called WHITE THUNDER in 2019.

White Thunder has my vote. A dueling RMC hybrid that is launched. There are 3 launches per ride (like Cheetah Hunt) and they occur at different places based on which side you are on. That way each side would pass the other side multiple times during the ride.

They have taken down two of the four mushroom things where sand dune lagoon was. I don't know why they haven't taken down the others.

coasterbruh wrote:I don't think it would be wise to stuff another ride in the county fair. You don't want to oversaturate the area. It's plenty other areas in the park that could use a ride.

I agree considering they just added county fair last year. I could see dodgems getting moved to the North Carolina side of the park near Fury or drop tower.

tarheel1231 wrote:“Palmetto Timbers” amen “Carolina Timbers” both don’t sound right IMO, they don’t really elicit any reaction.

Personally I’m hoping for a nautical theme of Pirates, Storms, or some sort of Sea Monster but that’s just my opinion.

They could go with blackbeard like they did with the slide complex considering the site is right next to it

I'm talking about last year when it was opening weekend for the waterpark

This coaster will have zombies on one side (PVZ), ghosts on the other (Boo Blaster), and a giant ghost ship right in front of it (Flying Dutchman... I mean, Southern Star  ). I think something more... spooky would be fitting for the theme of this ride.

Thats actually a good idea, rename the area to something Haunted.

I like a lot of the name ideas tossed around, but I have to go with the "no timbers" boat. I think the coaster would either be an RMC or GCI but I'm HOPING for a record-breaking RMC. I really believe we'll actually see something more along the lines of some big GCI or RMC that might be racing/dueling (rip TR). I don't think we'll see a Twisted Colossus or something like that but I just hope we have something with a good theme and breaking some record so 1) we can have a "more impressive" resume and 2) we NEED a wooden coaster and at this point a hybrid would even work. As long as we see no B&M anytime soon, and have a more diverse lineup of coasters (diverse as in different manufacturing companies) than I'll be completely satisfied. :D

EDIT: maybe not completely satisfied, but I'll be real happy.

They aren't cutting down trees to use the wood for a wood coaster, so wtf does cutting down trees have to do with steel?

Everyone seems to think the apocalypse will ensue if another B&M comes to the park. While I'm hoping for this to be a wooden coaster, I'd be more than happy if a B&M Dive came to the park.

I would think that he would be referring to the fact that steel takes up VERY LITTLE land area by being suspended by tall supports spaced very far apart. Wooden coasters use a lot of land area close to the ground by using very closely spaced supports latticed by even more supports leaving little room for trees.

Honestly with the work that’s been done on Hurler, I feel that a wooden coaster isn’t as much of a gap as it was immediately after Thunder Road left. I mean it’s no Thunderhead, but it’s smooth(er), provides a decent amount of airtime, and it’s pretty enjoyable.

Hurler's biggest problem isn't that its rough, but rather how boring it is.

KD's Hurler was a totally different story, as it is still one of the roughest wooden coasters I've ridden. More so than Mean Streak I would say.
