I was there Friday and Saturday (4/20 and 4/21), I went for the JDRF on Saturday, there was no work being done that I saw, everything was parked, they were working on Friday of course. Not sure about Sunday though. I got a few pictures, I have more I am going to put on my facebook page as well, the ones on there now are from my phone. Not sure if I will go back this weekend or not to get some more pictures of construction, I am trying to get some weekly when possible :D

I personally don't think that's a footer... looks like some sort of pipe/pole surrounded by markers. The first time I saw it was a couple weekends ago on the 14th.

There is already a footer.... Also. The flyers are under fury, also can be seen on my Carowinds fans only facebook page!

I'm not 100% sure about this but I recall seeing this very same thing sticking out of the ground just after TR's station was removed. Could be leftover underground electrical conduit or something equivalent. It is also visible on Google Earth with a flyover date stamp of 9/2/2017. I honestly wish it were related to 2019, cause like everyone else, I'm stoked to see whats in store.

Thats a possibility. I dont remember seeing it before but a lot of Scarowinds stuff was in that area. I may go through pictures and see if it was there... My fault....

It's kinda hard to see due to how small it is but if you look closely, there is a red car (or truck) parked there. If you look directly to the right, there is a grey car and the item we're referencing is just to the right of that grey vehicle. Hope that helps.

Now, it could be hiding behind equipment because these shots were taken at different angles, but it looks like it wasn't there just a few weeks ago.

There was also a similar shape of markers around something else close to the 2016 waterslides.

Sorry everyone, but that pipe has been there since 2016. It has nothing to do with the 2019 project. If you ever peeped over the fence, you would have seen it. So no it's not a footer. Also looks can be decieving, but this space does not look big enough for a wooden coaster. But you never know. At this point anything is possible. Plus did you all see the wood in backstage area from the pictures presented. I personally have never paid attention to a wooden coaster being built so how does the wood look when delivered? In stacks?

Did anyone notice the artificial sod also it doesn’t look to me like the area is big enough for a wooden coaster unless it’s going to be incredibly circling and banking within and throughout itself.

That area is 5 acres. They could fit a Goldstriker-sized coaster in there and still have nearly half of the space left over. It’s actually a lot larger than it looks.

Though as other have indicated, no trees will be harmed in the making of this coaster.

If it helps, I was there on Saturday evening and saw some people on hard hats placing down flags in the middle of the site.

Saw this recent shot on my FB stream last night. It looks like that hole I noticed may just be the remnants of the crews digging up the WWF track foundations. Also, 5 acres is no slouch, this is a very large site.

According to Google maps, Hurler's land area is less than 4 acres so a wooden coaster can DEFINITELY be built on 5 acres of land. If it is, I just hope it more intricate than Hurler. It's definitely not as long an area so maybe that will add to the complexity of the design. I like a coaster to weave in and out of itself.

(I still am hoping for a parking lot tunnel to the grassy area near the highway. Probably wont happen but until the first leak of the plans, I'll keep the dream alive.)
