It's only open on busy days. Last year it was surprisingly open on Sundays because the crowds would get so high on that day!

Last year, after the Water Park opened for the season, Carowinds allowed South Gate as an exit only during the week days. For those who parked at the water park entrance and then went into the park after the water park closed. Not sure if they will do that this year. It appears that there are staff shortages/budget cuts. Hell, the drink hut in front of Electrospin was shut down last fall and I havent seen it open yet (I don't go on Saturdays).

I suppose depending on how much they theme the new coaster it could be an opportunity to have another gate for entry/exit and alleviate traffic at the main gate. I would tend to doubt that just because they want to push people through the front for more sales.

I would agree staffing can be an issue. Heck a couple of weeks ago on Saturday night they were shutting down the SC side over at Harmony Hall. Even stopped people from getting in line for Fury 20-25 minutes before the park closed and the line wasn’t long anyhow.

I originally thought the park would go with a GCI woodie. But for marketing purposes and to fill the major 'void' of not having a launch coaster, I totally understand why they are going this route! Mack makes some incredible rides.

I bet the entrance plaza for the new coaster will be to the right of Dodgems. Where they placed the wooded wall up.

I vote the entrance plaza to be there right behind boo blasters accessible from either side so it can also be used as a pass thru from County Fair to Crossroads.

Now it's actually pointed towards the 2019 project construction site! :D

Wow, I am very surprised they did so this early. Just fueling the hype.

It would be so funny if the coaster was made by a different manufacturer but with an even better layout and just overall a better coaster. We would be hyped up for something big only to be blown away and super surprised. It's not like it's impossible though. Just look at Fury's story. We all thought it was gonna be a wing coaster.

I don't think anyone thought we were getting a 300 foot wing coaster. I think it was generally assumed that the representative of Charlotte didn't know what he was talking about.

I'm very sure Cedar Fair has done their due diligence in the research and overall planning for this ride. They know our market, they know the surrounding parks in this market, what those parks have, what they don't have, and pretty much a generalization of what rides people want the most. I'm excited for anything they bring us.

I really don't have a problem with the layout, Carowinds doesn't have anything like it. Plus, I just don't think Cedar Fair would invest millions into something if they didn't think it would garner high interest and wow the general public. Heck, the plans leak it self could have all been "by-design".

I count 5 excavators. And they are currently digging a big hole. They dont seem to be making it any wider just deeper. Is this a massive footer?
