HDmech they lower the skytower to half mast so they can hang christmas lights from the top in a big tree formation.

Also... a halfway point strikes a nice balance between the counterweight and the weight of the cabin rather than one end up in the air/reverse, or at least that's why I've heard that some drop towers park that way.

you can see in one of the photos that they have lights on the skytower.

in a different photo it looks as if the crane is holding the skytower up.

There is not a whole lot I am interested in on the internet. This is interesting and I enjoy forums and rollercoasters this fits my style entirely. So I like to be active.

They normally keep it all the way up to prevent the cables from snapping against the tower due to the wind.
