is it coincidence that just a few days after the big announcement, carowinds has this scheduled

Coke Zero Race Festival
August 29
11am - 4pm

Live and in person Q & A with Kyle Petty at 2:00pm on Stage in the Palidum Plaza area.

Nascar Simulator, Legend cars and much more. Stay tuned for addtional information.

Not so sure. There isn't a race that weekend on the schedule, so the timing might be the factor. Kinda surprised that some of the other Coke Racing Guys wouldnt' be available. They may be heading out to run the Nationwide Series that week, therefore not available. Michael Waltrip & Jeff Burton don't drive Nationwide I wouldn't think. Surprised they couldn't get them out, Michael is a hoot.

uh, the saying is "they say lightning never strikes the same place twice. they were wrong.". the "SAME PLACE" considering carowinds and kings dominion are two different parks in two different states, i don't think that is it.

why can't people just get it through their thick skulls that there used to be a coaster at carowinds called "White Lightnin'". unless someone can come up with a truly logical explanation besides this, then this has to be it! :roll:

just got a email from carowinds, near the bottom it says
"Record Breaking History Making!
Time is racing as fast as lightning!
Log onto carowinds.com August 26 for the largest announcement in Carowinds’ history!"


racing as fast as lightning?, cmon, thats how they are tying the two together?

HHEEYY... has anyone thought they may theme it as the movie CARS?? you know.. Lightning McQueen.. the car is red... the track is red.. the car is fast.... im sure this coaster will be fast... just a thought... what does anybody else think?? its just an idea?!!!!
