^^ Well if they can't squeek 96mph out of it, they should stop promoting it as the world's tallest and fastest giga coaster... since they would only be tied with Steel Dragon, not the "fastest".

95mph or 96mph... it makes me wonder what percent of riders won't have any eye protection when they ride? A bug hitting your eye at that speed wouldn't do you too good! :) Granted, Formula Rossa goes 149mph and requires safety goggles for the duration of the ride... but Kingda Ka's 128mph doesn't. Seems strange that the USA and its perception of having great consumer protection laws wouldn't require eye protection...

Formula Rossa's safety goggle requirement may have something to do with it literally being located in the middle of the desert. I imagine the sand is flying pretty good on a windy day.

It will be the fastest at 95. They both will be as there will be none faster.

Formula Rossa's eyewear are indeed due to all the sand. There are currently 5 operating coasters in the us that go above 90 and none require glasses.

I got to thinking about how fast the Mosley guys have been moving since the lift was completed. I looked back and the final piece was put in on 12/4. That's 42 days ago including the holidays and Sundays. There have been 6 Sundays since then and Christmas and a few rainy days as well which totals around 10 days give or take. So if they finish up in another lets say 7 or so work days they will have finished the entire circuit minus the lift and brake run in less than 40 work days! That's getting it done right there!

Me too. The people on the right-hand side of the train will be able to grab handfuls of grass on the piece they're installing now if Carowinds lets the weeds grow. :D

We can't precisely calculate the maximum speed because we don't know enough of the less significant variables. I'm sure B&M can give a number with pretty small range of error. But the maximum speed will undoubtedly be above 95. I personally believe they are smart to not announce the final speed until it has been measured in the real world. For example, why advertise 97 if it ends up being 98? The number they end up announcing is going to stick around for a long time to come.

Yeah... Carowinds should be forced to live up to their name.. The 325 in "Fury 325" stands for kph right? That = 201.95mph That will show that there Abu Dhabi coaster we don't need to wear goggles at any speed! 8)
