General Carowinds discussion

Warning, this is just my opinion, so please bare with me on this one.
I've spent the lase hour looking at coaster footers of different companies, but mainly between B&M and Intamin. So far, I've noticed that most Intamin coasters (well, I305 at least) have 12 bolts on the footer itself that hold down a square shaped support. I realize that different size coasters require different types of supports of various designs, but I didn't see a similarity of Intamin footers versus the footers in the pictures on page 207.

Feel free to add or take away. I just wanted to see for myself if these footers are even remotely similar to Intamin. But from what I can tell, they are not.

This is why you don't use Wikipedia as a reference. Anybody, and I mean anybody, can add to that even if they have no idea what they are talking about. Right now there is nothing factual on that page - it's all speculation.

As a regular Wiki editor I will ensure that article gets deleted ASAP. And regarding the whole Wiki can't be used as a reference, I like to tell people to use Wiki references as a reference. Several articles have secondary, reliable references that you can use without saying you used Wiki. (And in some cases such as the SheiKra article, there are archives of newspaper articles you can't even find on the internet anymore :) )

EDIT: Article deleted. :D

There will be at least one tunnel, possible two. And based on the track layout in the blueprints that called for a tunnel, the track and supports will be fabbed with that in mind. If the tunnel out by the entrance doesn't happen, then the track will sit in a hole, lol.

An underground tunnel would be awesome.

I don't believe they would put an aluminum tube tunnel out like that in front of the main entry. That will be the first thing people see as they arrive, and would set a very bad tone. It could end up being a trench with an arched bridge over it.

which should probably put the b&m/intamin debate to rest.

I agree, that should remove all doubt that this is a B&M. This is a fun time to be a coaster enthusiast.

I didn't realize the start of the lift hill would be that far back. Maybe its the angle.... Also has anyone noticed if they have started pulling up the asphalt where the suspected first drop will be?
