I've read a couple comments concerning the weather and hoping it is bad on the 28th, and I don't see why...

Anyone who's going on Opening Day has it planned, and they've likely followed Fury's announcement and/or construction with the intention of hitting up the park day one. I don't think bad weather will ward off that many people.

I, for one, hope it's warm and sunny because going 95mph in the rain will be painful and cold. And chances are the lines won't be very long any way -rain or shine- (at least not on Opening Day; the rest of the season might see some looooong lines though).

I didn't think about it that way. I certainly don't want to be going 95 miles an hour when it's 40 degrees and raining. Not fun. I rode the windseeker last year when it was 40 degrees and it was miserable.

I'm excited for tomorrow as the final piece will be installed! And to clear up a few posts back I do not wish to take any harsh comments against myself over a piece being installed. I have a great relationship with many ppl on here and finding what went down over this to me wasn't appropriate! So moving forward I'm looking forward to tomorrow!

Please don't take this the wrong way but...(and this isn't just directed at one person) Stop thinking like an enthusiast. Bad weather isn't going to ward off any of us. There are enthusiasts that are following this because it's a huge thing in our particular hobby. And, yes, if it's a nice spring day, with a new ride opening, the crowd will be more than an opening day with, say Windseeker, or Dinos Alive opening for sure. But some of y'all have said things about how people are going to come from all over, how this is so major that tons of people are going to show up, and now saying that bad weather won't ward many people off.

I get everyone here is excited. I'm excited. I've never been this excited about opening day since...ever. But trust and believe, while Carowinds (and Cedar Fair as a whole) is positioning the park to be in a better position to serve the region (Their own words), it isn't going to turn Carowinds into Kings Island or Cedar Point over nite.

Kings Island traditionally has a very busy opening weekend, as does Cedar Point. SFoG and Carowinds typically do not. Dollywood's opening weekend, from my experiences and what I've heard, have never been terrible. These parks are only closed for 3-4 months. Heck, KI and CP have 2+ hour lines on weekdays in the summer normally where Carowinds only really has one ride that has a really long line.

I see opening day being busier than normal opening days, but not packed out. Could it happen? Absolutely. Will it happen? Not so likely.

And if it's cold and rainy? It'll be dead, like any amusement park, regardless.

I went to Canada's Wonderland on a crowded Saturday and Leviathan was under an hour wait. The queue was filled but it moved extremely fast due to the high capacity of the ride. It has a pretty small queue area, though. The one for Fury looks to be a lot larger and I think that does have some effect on whether people will get into the line (if the line is coming out of the queue entrance I think that deters a lot of people).

Yeah, I was actually gonna talk about that too. B&Ms are people eaters. At most, a giga running three trains isn't going to have a really long wait. I think the queue will probably stay full, but as long as it moves like most B&M Speed coasters, the line shouldn't be more than 60-90 min.

To clarify what I mean in my earlier post, cold or rainy weather won't stop the die hard local/regional (and maybe a few national or international) enthusiasts already heart-set on being one of the first people to ride Fury.

That being said, I don't expect there to be a massive crowd. So even if it does rain, I wouldn't think it would affect the turnout because, as I said, the enthusiasts will likely be in the majority on day one... And that majority will not show up in droves. (if what I'm trying to convey makes any sense).

I was just browsing the cameras and the crane over near the station was lifting then lowering something very near the transfer track. I couldn't make out what it was but it looked fairly large. Could they be putting the trains on the transfer track?

Edit: On second thought, it looks more like lumber than anything else. Maybe for the roof of the storage bldg?

So today we are discussing possible line times instead of the dangers of sand-filled, trims on tracks on narrow support structures that are dangerously close to heavy traffic maintenance roads? Or something like that?

I have to admit that I'll miss the occasional large install piece of track and the daily updates of "CoasterPorn" as I called it to my friends, but I'm really enjoying watching the main entrance come together now.

Should be an exciting opening day!

Don't worry, soon it will be summer and we can get back to the regularly scheduled programming of outlandish 2016 rumors and excessive hype even though it's clear that it will be a water park expansion.

That sounds like pure speculation and rumors to me! Are you trying to excessively hype up 2016 already?

I agree. You have been nothing but nice to people on this site and did not deserve that.
