General Carowinds discussion

Yes does anyone know if they'll sell them like they did (not sure if they still do because coadterdynamix has downsized, and also I haven't been to the park in 3 years) with intimidator? I really like having something like these for my favorite rides. If not, meh, I like the one I made!

Nice poll, completely excludes Wicked Cyclone, which would probably be my vote, followed by Twisted Colossus, then Fury. I guess I'm actually most excited about Fury for personal reasons, but objectively I think I will find the other two to be better rides. I suspect all will find their way into my top 10 steel if not top 5.

That site did a top 10 months ago, and I *THINK* they put a parade ahead of Fury, and didn't even put in Wicked Cyclone. Do they not realize Wicked Cyclone is being built?

Personally, I'm more excited for Wicked Cyclone than Fury 325, but we'll see how the ride experience is really.

Hopefully, more will come with my interview with Steve under the Intimidator train, as he gives some awesome info, and makes for a good stand-alone video in itself in my opinion.

Sadly my "Tricerabottom" joke didn't make the cut

I finally had a chance to ride 3 RMC coasters this past week - New Texas Giant, Iron Rattler & Outlaw Run. I think the RMCs are all extremely fun rides - particularly NTG - but each of those coasters has an inherent flaw that keeps them from being truly memorable. The RMCs almost ride like a collection of "moments" rather than creating a cohesive "ride". They all cracked my top 15 steel/wood but I think the novelty of these rides for many enthusiasts pushes them a few spots higher than they probably should be.

Personally, I think Leviathan is better than all of the RMCs (have not ridden Goliath at Great America yet). Fury 325 looks like it will be an improvement on Leviathan's biggest weakness (its shorter length), and as fun as the new RMCs look this year Fury 325 is infinitely more appealing to me. I would be absolutely shocked if Fury 325 doesn't win the Best New Ride in the Golden Tickets this year.

That looks amazing! I wonder if they will be selling replicas like this, as they do for the Intimidator. Bravo

I thought about painting my Intimidator model since the train actually looks more like FURY 325 than Intimidator.

Just saw the TODAY show clip of Fury. Man I am loving all the attention Carowinds is getting now. I also can't believe that we now have less than 4 days (less than a day for some of you) until we finally get to ride Fury after 18 months of speculation. It's been a long journey from the “$30 million 300 ft+ tall coaster in 2015” thread to now, and in a way, I'm a little sad it's come to an end. But, I cannot wait to ride Fury and watch as this new era of Carowinds begins to unfold!

That's why I decided to do it. It just looks much more like Fury without staggered seats, I'm glad I did it!
