I was thinking the same exact thing. Those are some massive supports so that only means that Fury is going to be unlike anything ever seen. That animation did not do it justice. Even pictures of the lift when it is complete will not do it justice, but if I saw a picture from say the BOA headquarters in Charlotte of the top of Fury then ill flip off the wall.

End result: This thing is going to be massive!

Weird... I'm not getting that instant "pop" that some of you are getting over the brake run support pics. Yeah, it's kinda tall but not that much taller than Intimidator's first brake run support. If yall are freaking out over a normal sized brake run support, Walmart is gonna run out of lotion and Kleenex when the top most lift hill support goes in.

Remember - There are two levels of brake run here. The support closest to the camera in the second pic will be where you first hop up into the brakes. That brake run will travel over those first three supports and then the track will dip down into another set of brakes that start at the fourth support before you turn and line up with the station.

Eh... Maybe it's the "old man" in me that's outgrown that phase of coasters. I'm super excited about the coaster as a whole and it's interesting to watch it get built, but I'm not spazzing out over a support or two being installed.

Like I said, I understand where most of it's coming from cause we have all been there at some point or another. I was mainly making a comment about if folks are this excited about a few small brake run supports, then we're gonna be in for a long winter, lol.

That post makes me wonder... How many folks on here will this be their first time seeing a coaster erected?

I have seen one be erected before, but not on a day to day basis. I saw a video of Intimidator being built. However, this is vastly different. I am watching the construction every day, so technically, this is my first time watching a coaster be erected.

^^^ Same with me. With Intimidator I would just check up on it when I went to the park.

Right I was thinking the same thing. That is high up for a brake run.

I've seen Afterburn, Nighthawk, Cobra and Intimidator be built.

*cough* Leviathan *cough cough*

yeah, I know they had no choice with that one, but yeah, that brake run is also high up. 100 feet or so? This one looks like 30 or more feet.

I know that Leviathan's brake run beats Fury's by about 70 feet, but compared to other coasters at Carowinds it looks huge!

I watched Top Gun and Intimidator get erected but it's like crack to me. i also like watching building and highways get built. Years ago when they were building the huge interchange down by Carowinds, I use to go down there just to look at that. Well I figure I could be doing worst things, like watching bad tv shows and movies. I just found it fascinating the way they topped off Leviathan. Those pieces are so heavy, and have to go up at the exact angle. If I could sit out beside Fury in a lawn chair and watch that in real life I would be so happy. For me it like NASA launching a rocket off into space. You never get tired of it. I feel that way about launched coasters as well. I can watch the blast off hundreds of times and never get tired. I hope our next coaster will be launched.
