General Carowinds discussion

I didn't look at it this way before, but I was considering where the location of the station could be. If the station is in fact somewhere in the red, there is a straight shot to go under the bridge. However, this may disrupt and modify rip roaring rapids. I am personally hoping for a more of around the amphitheater and across the front enterance.

"Without names, Carowinds, United States: For 2015 B & M is to provide a larger roller coaster after Carowinds. The gigantic roller coaster is a targeted improvement of more than 90 meters over a length of over 1500 meters, the state line of North and South Carolina repeatedly cross and thus her little brother Intimidator, a B & M Hyper Coaster in the same park, make easily in the shade."

The news article does say it will cross state lines, and thus intimdator, I think this route may make that possible.

I don't know if they're rumored to come out, but if the station is gonna be right around that area, I'd assume they would be.

I'd more so think the karts would leave rathan that the jukebox, that's the ONLY eatery in that back corner, not that it's popular or anything, well I haven't eaten there in like 6yrs, but with the karts gone that makes good for a nice space with coasters having their own plaza entrance with signing and theming now a days. As long as the dont plop the signage in the middle of the walk way like they did Cobra lol

I miss when the diner and hurler were themed to waynes world. This is back when hurler was newer and I enjoyed it better. I also miss when action theater was worth something, and it was themed to days of thunder and James Bond. Although I like cedar fair better, there are a few themes I miss about paramount before they got lazy with Carowinds. I do see that cedar fair is doing there best to catch Carowinds up to the other parks, and I can not wait to see the outcome in this 3 year expansion. I hope the entire thrill zone will be retheamed to go along with the new coaster, not just the diner. A new flat or two would be nice, a new paint job on drop tower, and either one or two things to hurler: rehab, or the world biggest bonfire.

I hope to see a webcam on top of drop tower to watch this project.

I dont post here often as i work for the park each season but i do read what people post and i can say i highly doubt they will ever put a coaster or anything under the bridge as the would disrupt the maintenance road and that is the only maintenance road to that side of the park there is only one maintenance road in the park. they cant just move that road somewhere else lol there's no where to put it. and i can say my job involves travling the maintenance road alot and if it wasnt there getting around to that side of the park can be a pain trying to travel through the park weaving between people

As far as moving the maintainance road, with the removal of South Gate the maintainance will likely be connected there. I expect the bridge will be removed as part of the North Gate remodel, I am on the opinion that new buildings wilk replace the bridge. The cost annouced is $4 million.

I recall an ACE Member on TPR saying the south gate would be used at some point as the main entrance while the North Gate gets remodeled. I think the expansion will most likely be more ticket booths and an expanded entrance so more people can go in through the north gate. I don't think the plantation house would get torn down, just renovated. I hope that field in the middle of the parking lot will get turned into new pavement. Parking is absolute hell and especially by the north gate.

I figured 4 million will go further than new ticket booths and changes to the Plantation House. I would be surprised to see the Plantation House standing in 2016, changes to the parking lot, I doubt if anything the exit needs the most change.

I have softened on Paramount a lot now that time has passed. I use to hate what I considered an injustice the treatment Carowinds received under their leadership. But now as I look back, it seems that Carowinds came out ahead. All of those first of a kind rides PKD and PKI received did not hold up well over the years. On the flipside, the bread and butter attractions we have held up well. Now that CF is 'catching up' all the former Paramount Parks, Carowinds is ahead of Dominion, and Island, because we have the basic rides. It's really funny when you think about it too. Wonderland, now has two top steel coasters as well as all those flats Paramount put in during the neglect years. That combo makes them a complete park. Banshee is only bringing Island up to Carowinds level. Now if only we could get a few basic flats in the coming years, such as a Top Spin, Giant Frisbee,...
