Oh, I'm well aware that there's enough room for it. I'm just curious about the location. :D

Also- resort development! I'm still banking on an expansion for Camp Wilderness!

Is there anything carowinds can do for the Woodstock’s Whirlybirds so they're not ovens that bake small children? Last time when my great nephews were on it they got off with sweat pouring off them. Obviously you cant put AC in them

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but this is a great article about Cedar Fair: http://www.iaapa.org/news/funworld/funw ... april-2016

The article talks about the direction the company is moving in and the thought process behind adding new attractions. It also talks about how they had to rediscover the brands of their parks, especially Knott's and Carowinds. They acknowledge that both parks had moved away from their identities in recent years, with Knott's turning into somewhat of a thrill park (You can thank Dick for that), and Carowinds moving away from its southern roots.

Then they talk about accommodations, digital dark rides, yada yada yada, the stuff we've already heard from other articles and conference calls.

Somewhat of an unrelated question: Did Carolina Harbor raise attendance more than Fury? I know Cedar Fair said Fury exceeded their expectations, and if it exceeded the numbers estimated in the closed session thing three years ago, attendance should be around 2.2 - 2.3 million.

The question isn't did Carolina Harbor raise attendance, it probably did( ). Fury 325 increased attendance back over the 2 million mark that Paramount Parks had it at in 2005(2.13 million with 2006 remaining roughly the same), Cedar Fair to my knowledge has never said how much over 2 million Fury took the park. The real question is will the 2017 expansion and beyond keep attendance going up?

Maybe it's not how you meant to come off, but you make it sound like Paramount had the park at over 2 million guests when Cedar Fair came in and screwed everything up. The recession in 2008 was the cause for the drop off.

Well, judging by how packed teh waterpark was today, I'd say that it definitely brought in the crowds
And that's a good thing too.

So, we know Fury boosted attendance. We can probably assume Carolina Harbor has increased or at worst maintained that attendance. Are you going to question "well the real question is will it continue next year?"?

The company wouldn't still be pumping ,only into the park at the rate they are if they weren't seeing results. It's not rocket surgery.

I rode the Scrambler (RIP Kaleidoscope and your super funky shelter) last night and it has been completely refurbished. New seat cushions, new polyurethane tops to the cars, and paint. I think this was done in-season, because it wasn't as nice earlier in the year.

Here's why this thought process does not work in the business world. Last year, attendance was boosted by Fury. This year, attendance is not only being boosted by the water park, but it's still seeing a boost from Fury as well. You can't really compare one with the other.

Ok somebody jog my memory. What was in the space before the number cars. Im just now noticing that there's a piece of the old concrete pad with either the old fencing or que line post holes and some bolts where supports were severed off.

Sidebar: Anybody else Hurler have new cushion on the seats? Very comfy and thick.
