hey ive never been to carowinds and im goin there sometime in july...i was wondering what are the best rides to ride at carowinds?

Top Gun and Borg! And the Phantom Flyers (which I have never rode (the line was really long and we had to leavw)) Welcome to the boards! Here's a tip...go on a Wednesday..if not go on a Sunday on the weekend (if thats when you have to go) Borg will have a long line...so ride it first. When I went back at the end of April...Borg had a 45 min wait and everything else was walk on or less than 5 mins! Enjoy your time!

My favorite rides at the park:

Top Gun
Borg
Phantom Flyers
Thunder Road (forwards)
Hurler (front row only, back will kill you)

I'd suggest hitting all the coasters, Carowinds has a good little collection of coasters and for the most part they are well maintained.

Suggestion: Eat outside the park before going in if possible to save money. There's a Wendy's and KFC right in front of the main entrance.

Have fun! it will be hot at PC in July!

what are the phantom flyers like?

there are some pictures of them in the Midway Guides and photo galleries..

they are metal 'tubs' hooked to a structure by four cables, and a motor propells them around the structure. You sit in the tub and have a sail to navigate the flyer.. Although it is in the Nick Zone this ride is a favorite among older guests because of a technique called snapping, where certain maneuerving gets the flyer's cables to go slack and 'snap', shaking the structure and propelling the flyer forward into an air stall
