General Carowinds discussion

^^^ I met an older lady on Fury last year (or was it the year before) that had a wide brimmed hat on and she was riding consecutive rides. It was akin to an Easter bonnet. She held the restraint with her right hand and had her left on top of her head holding the hat on. She was riding mid-train on the left side.

So, it's possible for granny to wear her hat on the ride. I've seen it done. This lady had to be 70 years of age PLUS. Said "she loved to ride."

Now, maybe she knew the operators or somebody because I wondered the whole time why the ride attendants didn't say something about her hat.

I would say yes so Carowinds could build the hype.We would not be able to follow construction as easy

Thinking out loud here.. why would Granny be posting her recipe in Celsius if we use Fahrenheit in this country? For this to be the “biggest announcement in Carowinds history” and for them to have used words such as “influx of performance”, “velocity of speed” “maneuvers remain unmatched” in their teasers, I find it very hard to believe the max speed would be 50 mph. I’m thinking the conversion to Fahrenheit is a real possibility here for speed.

I don't know why they are using Celsius. My only guess would be because this coaster is from overseas, and in Germany, they use celsius. Maybe that is a hint or something to it being from a Manufacturer overseas (Mack). Could be something completely different. I don't know.

As for conversion, I don't think Celsius is meant to convert to Fahrenheit.
35 Degrees Celsius = 95 Degrees Fahrenheit.
42 Degrees Celsius = 107.6 Degrees Fahrenheit.
50 Degrees Celsius = 122 Degrees Fahrenheit.

The numbers above seem way too high for this coaster, in my opinion. Giving the room they are working with, they wouldn't necessarily have enough room for a launch that powerful. Just look at TTD. It goes 120 mph, and it's launch track is pretty long. Only 7 coasters in the world go 100 mph or faster, and I don't see this being one of them.

Plus Mack hasn't built a coaster that fast, or even close to it. So even more unlikely.

No way this is 122 mph though, there must be something though.

Well it isn’t going to go 95 or 122 MPH.....
I believe this will be family coaster compared to Fury 325 and Goldrusher(Glorified kiddy coaster in GP’s eyes).

BREAKING: six flags magic mountain is announcing their 2019 additon(s) August 29th, the day before Carowinds announces theirs. This could very well be to over shadow Carowinds if they get something better than them like they did with Wonder Woman compared to railblazer.

You guys do know this is announcement season right? It's not like they specifically targeted Carowinds to one up them. I doubt any local or nation news will be showcasing any of the two parks addition in each others marketed area.

Get off of this forum with your reasoning and logic! They’re obviously trying to undermine Carowinds’ announcement so they can get thousands of people from North and South Carolina to buy $500 round trip plane tickets just to ride a rollercoaster!

If I shop at a Walmart in Charlotte and a new one opens in Alaska, well I’m obviously going to Alaska because that’s the only thing that makes sense!

Or they know what they're getting sucks compared to Carowinds, so they timed their announcement to ensure their customers get one day of happiness before their reality sets in...

As others said, it really isnt relevant - unless announcing competing record-breaking coasters, where if you announce late your's will no longer be record breaking - but even if it were a factor, it still could mean just about anything.
