I'll leave it to someone else to post parking lot pictures. Even though this one is quite interesting, I was too "intimidated" by the FUZZ.

Nice shots Wormy, I've got some parking lot photos to add.

Below you will find a link to photos I took of the parking lot this afternoon.

To clear a few things up, they are NOT tearing up the parking lot yet. They did do a small repair job just outside of the fenced area near the South Gate, which explains the small pile of asphalt that sits just inside the fence. Also, there is some asphalt being torn up, but that is just from the dump trucks/heavy equipment going in and out of the job site.

You will notice in the photos a nice gentleman let me take his photo while he was surveying the parking lot and marking/re-marking footer locations in bright orange paint. The dump trucks continued to move dirt off site, and in quite a hurried fashion. While I was there only twenty minutes or so, several dump truck loads of dirt were hauled off.

They did have the entire back section of the parking lot closed off with orange cones, which are also in the photos, although I am assuming they do this only during the week when there are less guests. Other than that, not much else to report from the parking lot at this point.

Here is a link to the photos: http://s716.photobucket.com/albums/ww170/charlotteguy02/Construction/

Wouldn't orange shirt dude have some papers or something that he's supposed to be referencing as he does his survey work? He might not be able to talk but if anyone is there and sees a worker who is clearly not CP, you ought to ask him what they're planning, see if he'll let you sneak a peek.

speaking of PARKING LOT COASTERS. that is one ugly view alongside thunder road. is that a trailer of some sort on the left? Is it always there or new?

This area is so trashy, just like the area beside cyclone. They look like crappy junkyards!

That is a fairly new maintenance shed. It was definitely put in sometime over the past 2 years but I don't have an exact date obviously.

And like the area next to Cyclone it isn't ugly, it's maintenance. It's something you HAVE to have when running an amusement park. These areas actually intrigue me the most as they are usually off limits for non-employees.

That & supports have started arriving, still no track yet but I'm sure that it should arrive within the next week or two. Carowinds could be looking at a floorless or B&M looper with the lift & station area starting in the parking lot however because if it were a hyper then I think we'd be seeing track or at the very least supports arriving by now.

Why are you always so set on Carowinds not getting the hyper? I don't think KD is getting B&M and that red track is the only thing left that is B&M (the yellow is being shipped overseas presumably) so my vote would go to Carowinds for the red....it's very large and no looping pieces have been identified so I would also guess it's a hyper.
