Also, there's confusion of the terminology. I belive "hyper coaster" was coined by Arrows as a coaster over 200 feet when they built Magnum XL-200, but it was never really a brand - just a classification. But B&M use "Hyper Coaster" for branding their non-inverting sit down coaster style irregardless of size. Another instance of confusion, "giga" is commonly accepted as the term for a coaster over 300 feet since Intamin coined the word with Millinium Force. But then "Giga Coaster" is a brand for Intamin and they use "Mega" instead of "Hyper" for the under 200 foot rides.

In the end the smearing of classification versus branding can be confusing depending on the topography and/or the manufactuer.

The supports will come already painted, numbered and ready to go. Not sure why they repainted the Top Gun ones 10 years ago, must have been a last-minute decision.

Top Gun was originally going to be themed to Godzilla until Godzilla bombed at the Box Office (If I remember right, it was Godzilla. I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong.). They then frantically thought up a new theme and repainted the supports.

Just throwing this out there, does anybody think that this coaster might actually be a B&M Dive Machine and not a Hyper like we are all expecting?

Dive Machine track is absolutely HUGE. While the track that has arrived at Carowinds is large, it pales in comparison to Griffon or SheiKra.

This is going to be a B&M hyper coaster, which I'm sure will have some unique feature.

I personally hope this sucker is loooooooooong.

I posted back in the middle of page 27 about the very narrow footers at the south gate where an assumed hammerhead turnaround will be. I have only had one reply to this. I am really curious if anyone else has noticed this and also would like to hear opinions of those who have been down at the fence near those footers. Are they really farther apart then they appear from Afterburn's lift hill? Which to me looks like only 30-40 feet or so more or less. If a hyper does not have a hammerhead then it will have a helix and I know the footers are way to narrow for that. Any one have any other 'turnaround' possibilities? Maybe one of those RCT drops where the track drops down and turn back in and winds up right beside itself on the way back? Would love some close up photos of those last footers at the south gate.

Awesome. That is more narrow than a hammer head plus it is different. Thanks for the screen shots. Might just be what we get.

I kind of hope it is. That seems like it would be a pretty fun element in the hyper trains. Kind of like an immelman but it pulls out of it a bit earlier before going upside down.
