Well now...didn't take long for the disgruntlement to start eh? Guess I'm no exception here. To state that the length of Intimitador 305 is disappointing would be a gross understatement. Not to mention I'm none to keen on the terrain-hugging aspects of the layout either. Did Cedar Fail, LP. sink most of the cost for this attraction into royalties or what? And what does Ralph Dale Earnhardt, Sr. have to do with with a section themed to the Congo?

I have no problem with the height or the length, but I would love to hear an explanation as to why these restraints are being installed. Intamin just built new trains with lap bars for the Bizarro transformation, so they must still endorse them.

The layout is absurdly uninspiring. It looks to me like they just wanted the title of a 300 foot coaster, because once the first drop is over there is pretty much nothing to the ride but boring turns near the ground.

Also, make no mistake, I may run this website, but I am not saying this because I am some sort of Carowinds fan boy. I live equally close to both parks and in fact find Kings Dominion to be the better park. I was extremely excited about this ride, but this may be the most disappointing ride announcement that I have ever seen. Harsh, and I'm sure that will anger some people, but that's my opinion.

Hopefully it will prove me wrong in April.

TBH, after looking at the layout I'm not sure they'd gain anything but bragging rights from going higher. The Intamin Giga is more about raw power and speed versus airtime. Millenium Force is incredibly awesome from a power POV but the hills are far to smooth to produce the raw "ejector air" of a good B&M Hyper. So it seems Intimidator is merely capitalizing on that Intamin Giga trait by keeping the trains close to the deck and moving fast. I'm sure the ride experience will be thrilling and intensely fast which considering its namesake is appropriate.

While its not the record breaking Giga I'd hoped for, it's still nice to see something on a grandscale going up in the region.

You're a racer, of course you like the speed and power! :D
I agree with your post, it's pretty much sums up my opinion. I'll look forward to getting up there for sure.

I completely see where you are coming from Jon, but I am taking a more optimistic approach I guess. About the height, I really don't care if it's the tallest or not. At that height 15ft. doesn't mean a whole lot.

To be honest, I am psyched about the layout. After going over a 300ft. drop you'll be plastered to your seat on that massive turn. And the last few turns after the hill to the brakes are going to be insane. I think the only problem with this ride is the train. Those things are hideous to begin with. And I am at a complete loss as to why they needed OTSR.

I am digging the supports for the lift hill.
