Afterburn looks like a midget in that picture. You can barely see it to the right of the new coaster.

The whole park is gonna look like a midget! Just think how small the skytower is going to look now going down I-77. The thing that used to stick out I am afraid won't be hardly noticed. Good times in 2010!

i know some of you work at carowinds and i must ask.
is the sky tower really 340 ft? looking at all these photos of the new coaster makes it look shorter than that. look at wormys last photo and it looks as intimidator is tall er than the sky tower. i know it is a depth perception that makes it look taller than the sky tower but i have always wondered if that was really the actual height.

Looks like this thing is about ready for a ride...Jarvis, since it's rainy out today I will allow you to wear the speedo as we make the first test run this afternoon. Oh and max, I guess you can come too.

Hmm looks like they are working in the rain today, the cranes are moving. Maybe the next piece will be in place by friday night...

Looks like there are pieces for a support in the parking lot. Hopefully, that means they will try and get something put up. I think the rain will at least slow down tomorrow. Maybe not.

I have to say that if the crew keeps up this pace, we could see the 2nd hill done before Carowinds close...

I wonder instead of having that 1 or 2 day break between putting up a support and getting the track section ready and into place, why can't they go ahead and erect another support? If the second support is in the way, they could move down the coaster a ways and install one. Maybe the big cranes are not easily moved back and forth? Could it be that once they finishes a section the crane inches forward never to return? So many questions; how come, why, when, who, where? Why don't those pesky wasps, bugs, birds (well someone called the birds on another website) bother the web cam on cloudy days.
