I'd imagine they would throw out grass seed and cover it with hay (like under the lift) once they are certain that no one else would need to drive across it.

agred, I think it will be sod, the part thats covered in hay already, is not really seen. Why spoil Intimidators opening with dirt and hay right in front of the coaster.

hahaha... does carowinds realize they are only 12 days away from opening.. i still see A LOT of dirt.. that wouldnt b a nice site 2 see walking into the intimidator.. but hey - who cares if your on it.. but does anybody know when the grass is going n??

You realize you can't plant grass seed when you have freezing temps, or any other seed for that matter. I agree with others, I think they'll sod it. They said Intimidator would be open at park open, not that all the grass would be up and guys mowing it.

They had a bunch of hay down on the side of the sidewalks near the season pass processing when i was there on sunday. I was looking around fro grass and to see what landscaping had been done, that you can't see on the webcam. Even though you can't see much from the processing center.

Also just to add there was a guy out there repainting all the little white lines on the asphalt going to parking entrance.

I was driving down 77 and noticed they had the lights on, so I stopped to take a photo. All I had was a crappy P&S camera with me, so the photos aren't very good. I might go back tomorrow with my dslr and take some good photos of it. The ride looks really good all lit up.

If you live near the park it is definitely worth driving down 77 to check out the lights at night. The uplighting from under the hills is very elegant and the lights on the lift hill are pretty cool too. They run red down the lift and actually scroll starting at the top and then lighting up going back toward the station, then stay on for a minute and go off again. Pretty neat looking. Good job Carowinds!

Nevermind its not a crane...kinda looked like one though. Looks like theyre digging up some of that field again. Huh? weird..
