Novak: Well obviously, uh, over the last couple of weeks, uh, uh, King's Dominion has, uh, been on the uh top of the uh forums and stuff about uh, the uh new addition of uh trims to i305, and last time we had you on the show it was before Intimidator opened up and we uh we were told that uh straps were gonna be as a harness and then we saw 'em on the test seat and obviously we don't have straps - all all sorts of interesting stuff going on - what's what's Kings Dominion's official position at this point with all of that stuff.

Pagel: Well, obviously we constantly monitor all of our rides you know uh, um, mainly you know uh I think we we decided to make a few uh, um improvements to help uh improve guest comfort on the ride. You know this ride is a very intense ride still and um, you know we we think with these improvements that it will certainly, um, expand the ridership. Uh, now I think there are even some uh, um, thrill junkies that, you know, didn't weren't quite used to what uh, um, Intimidator was, you know, dishing out to 'em, so, we think this will be a positive move with these improvements and uh we have to think a lot more people will be able to ride it, experience it, and love it, you know, as much as I do, with or without.

Novak: Alright!

Then they moved on to bagels.

LOL  That is exactly how it happened... You know I have only listened to this in the loop 2 times (the other time being when Dani talked to them a long while back), and they just seem so unprepared for the interviews they do. John Pagel sounded nervous or something and it was just long and kinda boring...

Anyone that says the ride has improved is obviously the KD fancamp and can't admit that there is anything bad about their new toy.

The trims turned the world's most intense coaster into one of the world's "better" coasters, but overall the ride quality is crap compared to the original.

Ejector air down the drop in every seat, black-out-g's in the 94mph turn, blinding speed and wind, ejector air on hill 2 with the awesome blackout-wakeup effect unseen on any other ride ever, 90 mph twists back and forth and breakneck speed ------ ALL GONE. Gone never to return.

The ride has not improved, don't drink the koolaid of the kdfansite faithful.

I'm sorry to all of you that didn't get to experience any of the above traits - but I guess it's still a tall fast coaster. Maybe in a few years it will seem better once I've forgotten the WWWWTTTTTFFFFFF feeling of original i305.

Yea, I bet its nowhere near as good as it once was, but some people are just blowing it out of proportion, if you ask me.I really wish I could have rode it while in its intense state, but I will still ride it with its new "improvements" if I ever get up to KD, I would still rather go to Cedar Point though, if I have a choice..

The only positive to the ruination of i305 is that I'll end up riding Carowinds' Timmy more often! Living halfway between the two I was always likely to go north to ride the world's most intense, balls-out, WTF, crazy ride, now that said ride no longer exists, I"ll always go South and hop on Timmy which is still an awesome coaster.

I really feel like the coaster community lost something incredibly amazing when i305 died, never before had I struggled to find words to describe a ride to friends. I don't think we'll see as much pushing of the boundaries and ramping up of intensity coming out of Intamin for a while, which even if you love to hate on Intamin, is a sad sad thing for the industry and for all of us. i305 was truly the next level of intensity, a level that I'm not sure the GP as a whole was prepared for, and I don't think any other US park will make a similar mistake to what KD just did.

I can't help but imagine what insane issues the 149 mph Dubai launcher (with T-bars.....) is going to have when it opens. If i305 was eating wheels like candy I can't imagine the 149mph speeds, sandy winds, and intense sun are going to really work out well when you throw an additional 60 mph on them....

Personally, I'm shattered that I won't get to experience anything as intense as i305 possibly ever again. It's like giving someone a shot of heroin and then telling them that they can never see heroin again - if heroin was harmless to your health.

Has anyone rode it both pre- and post-trims? I'm about to try it out on Tuesday, and I'm pretty much expecting it to still be a great ride. I doubt it's anywhere near as AWWWFFUUUULLLL as so many people are making it out to be. And if it's not that great anymore, I'll keep breathing and my heart will still keep beating. Yes, I'll live, as will everyone else.
