Log Flume removal started before the park opened 2009.

It did, but there was a significant amount of work required for that as they had to grade the site after. Skyflyer is a simpler structure on a completely flat site. If the Palladium were to be removed as some speculate (highly unlikely IMO) then I think that work would probably have to start very early. If the concert schedule for next year comes out and has dates through the entire season, that should pretty well dispel that rumor.

Call me crazy but I am not 100% convinced this will be a standard Leviathanic B&M giga coaster. As much as I was one of the ones who said us getting a giga so soon was crazy, which I will admit, I will also admit that I will love it none the less. Especially is it is a B&M or Intamin that rides the wave of MF, Leviathan and Skyrush and NOT i305 which I have no use for. The idea of the station in the Thrill Zone area with the thing heading and going under the bridge and then turning around and zooming into and by the newly designed entrance sounds awesome regardless what it is. Lots of fun still to come watching this one.

^^There were more than a few of us who made that a happy obsession. I was fortunate enough to be working nearby at the time, but that was also before smartphones and social media kicked into full swing. We'll probably have a whole fresh batch of young budding photographers by then.

Since I am stuck at home sick, I was looking through the old intimidator forum. It's strange how we guessed the name of it way back before it was revealed. I wonder how early we will guess the theme of this one.

Wormy, OK, I know all of the logistics on how crazy it might be which I will admit that I agree with but I am still going for a giga wing coaster by B&M with the world's largest loop. So enter me on that one.

I wonder if they will retheme the area when the coaster is installed. We can all probably agree that "Thrill Zone" is pretty terrible, and I wouldn't be surprised if Cedar Fair agrees.

It's funny that you say that, because I was literally on the page of the old forum when we thought Intimidator would be the new white lighting.

Thanks man! Anyways, I agree 100% that the Thrill Zone should be rethemed. Whatever this new coaster will be, the entire area should match it.

I agree, it fits so well. Thunder, Lighning. Thunder Road, the film, White Lighning the film, both themed to Moonshine and racing/action.

White Lightnin' is a cool name to begin with, but bringing it back to the park with that whole "...This Spring, Lighning Strikes Twice!" Tagline would be FANTASTIC!! And a Gold/Yellow and White or an Electric Blue and White color-scheme would look geat, imo.
