My other thought is if the gate is being redone etc, this coaster being name Centurion and at the gate, a centry is basically a guard, Protector of Carowinds Entrance etc.. makes sense. same as gatekeeper

Yes, this Centurion/Gatekeeper, front gate theory sounds plausible. The new giga coaster will definitely be a major front of the park attraction.

There is also another Cedar Point connection to the word. Centurion is sometimes used to describe 100 or a century. As millennium is 1000 years. Centurion Force?

I really like Centurion. Pronounced "Century-anne".

I could definitely see that as the name for the new coaster, especially considering its NC plane connection. Or the whole gaurdian of the gate theme. Either way, I think we're in store for a great new thrill ride.

So if the name is true, I guess this is Ouimet's idea of a "front gate statement"? And unless the park tears down a few things, it seems kind of hard to make it to the front gate.

Back to the Centurion thing... I do like the idea, Its catchy.... BTW, did anyone else look at all the names CF has trademarked?? It appears that the whole "key chain" listing is a catch-all for their projects. Only time will tell what we end up with..

^You mean Timmy Jr. right? Intimidator is based off of Dale Earnhardt Sr. I doubt the park would trademark for another nascar name, especially one based off of Dale Earnhardt or his son.

And also I have it on good authority that the Skycoaster is completely dissasembled and sitting in the nearby parking lot in pieces. They took it down very quick, I wonder how long it will take to put back up.

If it took a week to take down, it's probably only double the time they have to put it back up. I imagine putting up a ride or coaster is much more difficult than taking it down. The park still has to deal with survey markers and all that.
