I'm wondering how much they can disrupt their current traffic pattern with Scarowinds yet to come.

Unfortunately it is still closed. I'm leaning to believe it may be down for the rest of the season.........

That's what I'm thinking; that Cedar Fair asked that the Tower be "shut down" so as to not get good shots, also the webcam that is up there. I think that they will open the webcam soon, perhaps after the announcement. At least I hope so...

That makes no sense, they wouldn't shut down Skytower to keep people from taking construction photos.

I don't think they'd close the skytower on purpose, because you can view pretty much every area of the park by just walking around and taking pictures. Also you could take pictures (although it'd be harder!) by riding the Hurler, or maybe even the dropzone. The track pieces are huge, heavy, and a pain to move... when they show up, they're going to plant them off the truck as close as possible to wherever they're supposed to be erected... it's not like they're going to hide them all in the woods or something for a month.

Just saw a Carowinds commercial and there is a teal B&M coaster at the end of it. Does anyone think this is possibly a clue of the new coaster?

The Carowinds commercial with the tael coaster was shot at Knotts. Cedar Fair shoots one commercial for all parks, usually at Knotts.

Hey guys, been reading these forum for about three days now. Figured it was time to join the conversation. Roller Coaster Enthusiast, and Carowinds is my home park though I am a fan of Cedar Fair in general . I'm going to the park Saturday and Sunday, August 2nd and 3rd. Anyone else be there around this time? I'll gladly post pictures of any progress I see!

Seems like there is mixed feelings about the Roman thing. Personally I love it! It's different, it's cool. Would love to see them commit a small section of the park to that theme. Maybe the station for the Centurion could resemble a Parthenon, and some decorative ruin in the area to spice it up. Hurler gets renamed to have roman derivatives, and maybe a couple shops is all. I'd be thrilled! Also, I know it's pushing it but, I would Love to see this new coasters first drop go underground like one of the videos I've seen here. Maybe the height will be 325, and the drop 345 or something of that nature. Like I said, not likely, but it would be a great addition. Nonetheless, a park in my back yard is getting a Giga!
