I could be wrong but in those photos it looks like the trim possibly moves in a linear fashion, but not up and down. Could you tell when taking the pix?

Just awesome!!! Now that track work is complete I can really focus on the new front gate plaza, the blue line expansion to uncc, the completion of the 485 outer loop and the I-77 toll lanes and expansion fiasco, in that order. lol

Fury will most likely open March 28th, but if something were to happen in the meantime that would significantly pause construction, they don't want to break the date. So that's why it's simply being referred to as a "spring" opening.

I couldn't tell despite all the shots I took of them. Here's one I didn't include already if it helps.

For those who've been asking, here's a good picture of the chain lift. You can see where it would pull you up on top, and return below.

from Don Worthington of the heraldonline.com:
The final section of track was about 30 feet long and weighed more than 13,000 pounds. A crane lifted the teal-colored track into place, and Daniel Doster of Lando put the final bolts into place. Each bolt was “torqued” with 590 pounds per foot. By comparison, auto engine parts are typically torqued from 3 to 16 pounds per foot during assembly. Mosley Erecting Company of Richburg assembled the 192 track sections.

I'm not sure why it would have. They probably just don't want to promise a date in case something comes up between now and opening day. Lets not forget March 18th is SPRING too! :P

Actually with that pic, Arby, it looks like there's a mechanism that lowers the bottom part. I wonder if that's how they change the intensity of the braking. Looks like some kind of lever lowers the bottom half.

That makes more sense. I knew the whole contraption didn't lower and raise because there's not enough room. The bottom dropping out and raising up makes sense.
