General Carowinds discussion

We just got a discounted rate at the Comfort Inn at Carowinds for those seeking overnight accommodations. Just call the hotel ((803) 548-5200) and request the "ACE Group Rate" of $99/night.

FYI: I think if you used their advanced purchase option on their website you can get a room for $86/night average.

Since it's reno it's a lot better than it used to be.

I just called them and they sent me some pictures. It looks great, but they're working on the ground floor now, so there will be construction equipment and such during our stay. Just a heads up.

^Just curious.. were you able to request one of the renovated rooms? I'm probably going to get us a room there but haven't been able to call and ask yet.

Registered yesterday (online, because my printer was out of ink for like a week). Realized right after that I spelled Jarsh's name wrong on the "guest of" line  In my defense, I work at a summer camp and we have kids with last name Harrington, so I just automatically spelled his last name that way.

They only work during the day and not on the weekends, or at least that's how it was when I stayed there for WWU in January.

If they are on the ground floor working, then the remaining three floors are finished. The floor that's being worked on (ground level) will be closed off from reservations so the only rooms available will be the finished rooms.

FamousAmos wrote:^^I forgot to ask about that. We won't be reserving a room or paying for the event registration until Friday.

Keep in mind that an entire floor of rooms isn't available for usage so their capacity is down some. Waiting might cause you to not have a room.

I'm the only one that sees that info so you're good. :-)

Is there an age requirement for this event by any chance? Do I have to be accompanied by a guardian, or could I just go with a friend?

There is no age requirement so long as you can behave yourself and not cause trouble. Although it is wise to have someone of driving age with you since the event starts early in the morning and runs late into the night. This just makes it easier so you aren't waiting around to be picked up afterwards or if for some reason the park closes and everyone has to leave early.
