General Carowinds discussion

I'd like to see them also use the "air" over the warehouse and possibly the action theater. I've seen a ton of buildings under coasters. Just the way they decide to design it. It would give them more space for a longer ride.

Biggest reason is that I prefer a more sweeping coaster ride than a ton of switchbacks. One or two is enough. (Is why Georgia Cyclone is not one of my favorites.)

There building a fountain and covered seating area where the carousel was... take a look at the renderings.....

I thought that too, but I do believe there is no GCI coming and it will be a steel coaster, but I wouldnt mind seeing a wooden coaster, although I would rather get an RMC single rail launch coaster, or some "new" coaster..... What I really hope for is a wing launch, wishful thinking though.

Carowinds needs a launch and a woodie. Can anyone else see a ground up RMC launched woodie going there?

I’d be very surprised to see a Raptor coming to Carowinds. CA doesn’t have the capacity issues Carowinds is actively trying to fix.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here. 2019 or later, I’m predicting the next Carowinds coaster will be wooden. As for GCI or RMC, only time will tell.

The Ouimet-era Cedar Fair doesn’t add coasters that are popular in the industry, but coasters that each individual park needs. Case in point: Kings Island getting Banshee in 2014 despite the last invert being built in America nearly a decade prior.

Carowinds has needed a good wooden coaster for a long time now and the removal of Thunder Road did nothing to help that problem. Out of all the Cedar Fair parks, not a single one needs a wooden coaster as badly as Carowinds. I can’t imagine Cedar fair doesn’t see this and given the opening of Mystic Timbers not even a year ago, it’s not too far out of the question to say Cedar Fair would construct anothet wooden coaster.

Correction, you cannot expand the lazy river and NOT get a brand new mechanism to pump the water as the current one would become obsolete as it is designed to handle the current length. The ROA isn't feasible to extend it so it won't be . . . For now.

Carry on. . .

The land drilling at Sand dune is done by a local company. They were drilling to find the bedrock and testing the soil samples.
I think a coaster for 2019 is coming
and a waterpark expansion in thunder road's turnaround in 2019.
and hotel opening in 2020. This is just my opinion.

So, if it is a coaster in 2019...

What type do you THINK it will be? What type do you WANT it to be?

I think and want a GCI woodie. The park really needs a 48" height requirement GOOD wooden roller coaster. Just like Mystic Timbers.

Family Friendly. The last 3 coasters have been thrill rides. A nice wooden coaster opening after Camp Snoopy makes a lot of sense...

The new hotel will benefit from this as well...

Families spend the $$ in the park.

Well yeah I'll be disappointed too if Carowinds doesn't add a coaster, flat ride, and waterpark expansion in the same year :sarcasm:

It would be funny if the old thing that happens is Flyers goes where Sand Dune Lagoon was.

Since you are no longer employed by the park, you don't have to say that anymore.
