No Jay, there’s no such thing as nuance! They’re going to rip out Nighthawk to build a clone of Dragster and then they’re going to submerge the land around the park into a lake.

This absolutely NEEDS to happen. If the park hasn't considered it yet, I sincerely hope they're reading this and add a path behind Boo Blasters (or elsewhere) to fully connect "Crossroads" (or whatever it will end up being called) with the rest of the park. :!: :!: :!:

The idea of a new, next generation Thunder Road gave me chills.

I can't say what is happening but I can say you can chill out cause that's not . . .  :silent:

Besides, I think the plans to move dogems have changed as it looked as if that area was earmarked for a revamped County fair but ultimately wasn't.

I'm not that big of a fan of over-using "Carolina". I like Timbers though. I think someone suggested "Palmetto Timbers" a while back. I like that one. It's a reference to South Carolina and "Project Alpha" is entirely in South Carolina.

It could be surrounded by Palmetto Trees to help with the theming. It's a win-win.

“Palmetto Timbers” amen “Carolina Timbers” both don’t sound right IMO, they don’t really elicit any reaction.

Personally I’m hoping for a nautical theme of Pirates, Storms, or some sort of Sea Monster but that’s just my opinion.

I hope its nothing like Mystic Timbers. That coaster is boring.

I like to ironically think the coaster will have "timbers" in the name :lolno: , but honestly I'd prefer to take something more original.

Also chknwing, that's the first I've ever heard of Mystic Timbers being a boring ride :?

I don't think we should read too much into them starting construction on a major project sooner than usual. I think that will be the new plan moving forward since the park loses some off-season time with Winterfest.

The timing seems to be about 6-8 weeks sooner than we have seen in the past, but that also makes up for the time and resources they lose in Nov/Dec.

I refuse to chill out my good sir.

In fact, I'm going to turn the heat up on the baseless rumor that the park is getting a dueling RMC hybrid called WHITE THUNDER in 2019.

I think this is gonna be the norm now as canada's wonderland already has track laid for their new B&M!

August after the announcement

Not necessarily I remember last year for the first two weekends of Carolina Harbor they pointed the webcam towards the wave pool and black beards revenge so we might be able to see a little bit of the construction site but I don't think it will.

CCookieMonster wrote:Trying to guess the coaster for this is kinda hard! I was thinking some type of GCI, but maybe that's too obvious. GCI has been building coasters in many other CF parks recently. So then I thought some type of launch coaster which would be needed and wanted. And then I thought again and said an RMC would be a wonderful addition to the park. It would be a nice intense coaster with plenty of airtime and would technically be a wooden coaster...TECHNICALLY. Either way I just hope we get a coaster that isn't B&M. I know this is gonna be a good year for Carowinds, and will definitely help the parkreach the 3 million goal.

I dont think this will be steel considering there cutting down pretty much every tree in that area.

Cedar Fair has made great strides towards making Carowinds more of a THEME park in recent years. So, whatever it ends up being called, I hope it isn't too generic. For a wooden coaster, I'd like to see a Native American theme. Maybe call it CROATOAN after the mysterious word left behind at the Roanoke colony?

Should we expect that section of Crossroads to be rethemed with this new coaster? Ironically, Crossroads is already the best name for that area of the park because where else would you find bumper cars, a pirate ship, plants, zombies, and a haunted house? It's where all things random meet: Crossroads.
