So that explains why they didn't pave the exit lanes all the way!! Going to be digging a tunnel for the coaster!!! :sarcasm:

I understand but think about it this way this would be on the other side of the park further away from the airport and based on the angle of decent would probably not be much differnt than Fury at 325, plus if it starts at 20' underground the ground height would only be 460, just a thought

I'll stick with thinking along the scale of Hades 360...

Anyway, if that is the plan, I envision getting the footers and construction started on both sides this summer and fall and closing off that section of the parking lot once the waterpark closes to dig the tunnel. They'll still have 6 months to dig it and still get it open on opening day. Easy Peasy.

Does anyone know if the area across the road being cleared is related or just coincidence that it is being cleared the same time all of the clearing on Carowinds property is going on?

I can’t remember the name of the user, but the clearing going on directly across from the water park parking lot is a warehouse unrelated to the park.

I have seen a lot of people talk about height restrictions not just for this project but from other projects as well...I decided to do some research but the only specifics I found only discussed within 10,000' of the airport. I dug a little deeper and decided to research buildings in the area. The tallest building in Charlotte is the Bank of America Corporate Center it stands at 871' and is 9.3 miles away. Carowinds is 15.1 miles away from the airport.....that being said I don't think we have anything to worry about.

I am sorry to inform you but Carowinds is around 6-8 miles from Charlotte Douglas, just outside the 5 mile radius of the center of the airport.

I don’t know if Heliports effect Carowinds or not but they are within 5 miles of more than one Heliport including their own.

Not to mention that due to the park’s proximity to the airport Fury almost didn’t happen. Thanks skytower!

I don't know, but I feel like what ever we are getting in 2019 is going to be more along the lines of Mystic Timbers or something like that along with a redo of the Crossroads area. But I would love to see something like Hades 360 like mentioned before.

I just really find it hard to believe that we're going to get a copycat coaster that somebody else is already done I keep going back to the name Project Alpha it leads me to believe that we're thinking something record-breaking I don't know what else to think
