It might be unrelated to the construction, but I just dont remember it being there, like seen in the before and after pictures that were posted. I am unsure. Guess we will find out later on. I also thought there was a hole being dug (for the flyers) and I do think it was just digging up the last of wwf because it seems to be gone now.... It was hard to tell though with this new fence in place etc. No need to worry if a wooden coaster will fit or not... Will try to get more pictures if not this weekend then maybe the next, depends on when I decide to go back to the park.

Going back to what's been said about the ramp up of work on this project and the fact that they have worked some Sundays, I'm not saying this is not a significant project but just take into consideration the weather for this week rain most of the week which all but halts any work that can be done. Does anybody remember back to the 2014-2015 offseason when Fury was being constructed, I think it was one of the wettest offseasons we have ever had so maybe they don't want that to happen again and have any big delays on this project...

I dont recall how much it rained when fury was being built, but I do believe construction was completed ahead of schedule. Luckily for our park, its fairly flat and I think this helps a lot with construction. Not sure how much they can or cant do with the rain this week, but I dont think it will put them behind much. I guess if they have been working on Sundays (I have never seen them there on Sunday) then they are trying to be ahead of schedule etc. I dont know how being open during the week will affect construction, I wouldnt think it would affect it much but I am unsure. Looking forward to May 19th and being able to get a different view of the construction!

Not that's it's realvent to the Carowinds project but it seems like that steel is the commen theme for new coasters next year....if you look on RCDB out of the 48 new coasters announced so far for next year only 1 is a wooden coaster.....again not that it's relevant just thought it was interesting

It has been a while since I have been on here but, I want to ask you all what you think of Carowinds getting a dueling RMC woodie in 2019? To be honest, I am expecting a woodie to be the new coaster for next year and I was initially thinking gci woodie or gci dueling woodie but, I am now thinking rmc or rmc dueling woodie. Somebody on Instagram (sounds vague I know) posted a pic from the sky tower showing what they thought was rmc track next to Carolina cyclone. The picture was super blurry so it might not have been but, I am predicting an rmc woodie for Carowinds next year since they took a huge L when they got ride of thunderroad. Thoughts?

The track rumor popped up back at the beginning of this month. I went and checked it out myself (from Drop Tower) and it’s junt random junk from the park’s boneyard. It’s easy to mistake RMC track for random metal and that’s what happened.

How would you all feel if this was a taller and more custom layout of the RMC raptor projects. I know they are low capacity, but the park already has several capacity eating machines. After watching the videos with RailBlazers test runs, I'm growing to love these coasters. Besides, that roar sounds amazing.

Just because we have several high-capacity coasters doesn't mean we should indulge in ones that are of lower capacity. Also the park has far more lower capacity coasters than high ones. Also I'd much prefer a T Rex over a Raptor for that very reason.

I just watched a video from 2015 where Fred Grubb said they could do a launched T Rex!! Now that would be cool. It at the 3:55 mark where he talks about it.
